How Curses Land

As we discover our authority as believers we may wonder why we are often attacked, why there seems ot be an open door to attack in our finances, our faith and such. The hardest idea for believers is the idea that they can be cursed while living for Jesus. We know because of the verse in Revelation that curses won’t be completely removed from the Earth until Satan is removed why?
Revelation 12:10 ESV
10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.
Tell us that Satan is the accuser of who? The saved-our brothers and sisters in Christ. Satan Accuses day and night until he is thrown down into the pit at the second coming of Christ.
we see this displayed when Balak Called Balaam to curse Israel
Numbers 22:6 ESV
6 Come now, curse this people for me, since they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall be able to defeat them and drive them from the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.”
The Spirit of God is in you too strong for the demonic to over take.
When we are aligned perfectly with God we are a forced to be reconned with. Since Israel at this point was clean and in obedience with God Balaam ended up blessing Israel. Balak gets angry asks why he blessed them instead of curse them and then does something I haven’t understood for a while until I’ve done a deep dive into the verse.
Numbers 23:13 ESV
13 And Balak said to him, “Please come with me to another place, from which you may see them. You shall see only a fraction of them and shall not see them all. Then curse them for me from there.”
Why did he reposition Balaam?
Numbers 23:27–28 ESV
27 And Balak said to Balaam, “Come now, I will take you to another place. Perhaps it will please God that you may curse them for me from there.” 28 So Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, which overlooks the desert.
This is now the third position where Balak took Balaam to curse Isreal and it didn’t work.
Here’s the issue. Satan cannot curse where there isn’t sin in our lives or our bloodlines. satan will position himself all around us, our past and our fmailies past up to four generations to find sin in our lives so he can attach a curse to us. Sin gives Satan legal right to curse us.
The curse weakens our strength. I get asked all the time-Why did Jesus have such an easy time cating demons and healing people and yet we struggle? Here’s the reality
Jesus was foudn without sin. He had nowhere to attach a curse too.
Jesus’ bloodline was pure-Mary was an innocent virgin and his bloodline came from the Father God. There wasn’t sin in his blood line to delute the power of God working through him.
Imagine god’s power connecting to us through an extension chord. at full strength this extension chord provides full power of electricity from it’s source, but put little cuts, dry rot, and damage throughout the line and the power either diminishes or goes away completely. Sin draws curses and curses as shown in
Numbers 22:6 (ESV)
6 Come now, curse this people for me, since they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall be able to defeat them and drive them from the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.”
Sin diminishes God’s strength surging through us.
Balaam couldn’t find sin to curse so what was Balaam’s answer? We find in
Numbers 31:16 (ESV)
16 Behold, these, on Balaam’s advice, caused the people of Israel to act treacherously against the Lord in the incident of Peor, and so the plague came among the congregation of the Lord.
What was Balaams advice? Introduce your women to Israel historically—What we call a familiar sin- Every time nonJewsih women were introduced to Israel Israel accepted the women, accepted their gods and sinned against the true God. historically this weakened Israel and opened them for attack because they drew the wrath of God.
Fall back to
Numbers 25:1–3 ESV
1 While Israel lived in Shittim, the people began to whore with the daughters of Moab. 2 These invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. 3 So Israel yoked himself to Baal of Peor. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.
When Satan cannot find sin in you he will attempt to introduce family sins into your life. Satan knew Israel’s weak spot. look at their history its spelled out for us. David and Bathsheba. Solomon and his many wives. Israel and the many times they took the false gods of their wives that weren’t Jewish.
Listen single men and women---Missionary dating doesn’t work. If you learn anything from Israel it’s almost guaranteed to fail. It’s why the bible tells us to find someone who is equally yoked because they won’t step up to our faith. We stoop down to their sin.
So there are obvious ways Satan attacks, but we are going to cover some open doors that we can close that will stop Satan from landing curses and diminishing our power.
One of the areas that’s an easy attack is what we call a land curse. Every time I buy a house or move from place to place I pray over the entire place. we see this origion in
Joshua 6:26 ESV
26 Joshua laid an oath on them at that time, saying, “Cursed before the Lord be the man who rises up and rebuilds this city, Jericho. “At the cost of his firstborn shall he lay its foundation, and at the cost of his youngest son shall he set up its gates.”
Many years later a man names Hiel came and rebuilt Jericho.
1 Kings 16:34 ESV
34 In his days Hiel of Bethel built Jericho. He laid its foundation at the cost of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates at the cost of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
This cursed continued a few years after this as Jericho was known as a place of death. From Hiel to Elisha children were constantly dying in this town.
2 Kings 2:19–22 ESV
19 Now the men of the city said to Elisha, “Behold, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees, but the water is bad, and the land is unfruitful.” 20 He said, “Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. 21 Then he went to the spring of water and threw salt in it and said, “Thus says the Lord, I have healed this water; from now on neither death nor miscarriage shall come from it.” 22 So the water has been healed to this day, according to the word that Elisha spoke.
Elisha spoke and healed the land because he was a prophet the good news today is that we as believers as long as we operating in our place of authority we can cast these curses and demonic forces out ourselves.
