Exodus 14:1–4 (NKJV)
1 Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 “Speak to the children of Israel, that they turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, opposite Baal Zephon; you shall camp before it by the sea.
3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, ‘They are bewildered by the land; the wilderness has closed them in.’
4 Then I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, so that he will pursue them; and I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.
Exodus 14:10-14
Exodus 14:10–14 (NKJV)
10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord.
11 Then they said to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt?
12 Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”
13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.
14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
“ Mad with the Pastor behind God “
“ Mad with the Pastor behind God “
Now what I’m about to say
All of us in here today have been guilty for this
At least one time or another
You ever got mad with someone
Behind some MISINFORMATION
But at that time you didn’t know it was MISINFORMATION
And some of y’all get
Cocky , Conceited , Crazy
And say “ Oh No “ my resource person is RELIABLE
Well that’s the SEEN, SETTING & SCENERY
With the child of Israel
They are mad with Moses behind God
And mad because of the information they THINK they know
On and from Moses
There’s 2 reasons the Children of Israel is mad with Moses
1st They don’t UNDERSTAND God
That’s why most church folks is mad with their Pastor
Because they don’t understand God
And when you don’t understand God
You don’t understand the Word, Will & WISDOM of God
And if you don’t know the
WORD WILL WISDOM of God
You will Sho’nuff be MISINFORM about your Pastor
Jeremiah 3:15 (NKJV)
15 And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.
1st God gives a GIFT ---[ Not a present ] Pastor
The greater the reward, the greater the responsibility. Whenever God gives us a "big blessing" our misuse of it brings about greater consequences. We see this with the people God gave talents in Matthew 25 (money) to. The one who had more was expected to produce more. Also, when God gives a Pastor (especially if he studies, prays, and loves the people) they are responsible for how they treat him. Don't treat the uncommon, common. The fact that God chose him makes him uncommon. Even when sound doctrine goes forth we are responsible for what we hear. That's why when children commit crimes they are sent to reform school, not jail. Adults know better most children don't. God killed Eli because he knew what his son's were doing and did not disciplined them. That's why people had a problem with Trump. He was responsible for the entire "free world" yet he does not act like a president!
Statement: How you feel about the gift shows how you feel about God .
Example: If someone mistreat your child they are mistreating you.
2nd “ I will give “ --- means assign a duty, responsibility
“ Feed you “ --- to teach
Preaching for the Sinner / Teaching Saints
Preaching for the Streets / Teaching Sanctuary
3rd “ According to my heart “ ---- understand the heart of God / understand the Pastor
There’s 2 reasons the Children of Israel is mad with Moses
1st They don’t UNDERSTAND God
2nd They cried out & didn’t want God’s Plan
Exodus 2:23–24 (ESV)
23 During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God.
24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
Exodus 3:7–9 (ESV)
7 Then the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings,
8 and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
9 And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.
Note: They want out but don’t want God’s route.....
Moses is leading the children of Israel while God is leading Moses
Note: That’s why you should celebrate your Pastor because areas that he’s trying to FREE YOU up from is sometimes areas that he’s bound in
And the only WORD Moses got for them is “ stand still and see “
The children of Israel don’t understand Moses
And Moses don’t understand the children of Israel & God.
But the children of Israel forgot that it was God that sent Moses to them ( Pastor Alexander )
Note: That’s why you should celebrate your Pastor God sent him
Whatever God was going to do for Israel He was going to do it through Moses leadership
Exodus 3:1-16
Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law Jethro
And Moses led the flock to the backside of the desert
And came to the mountain of God
And the angel of the LORD appeared to him
In a flame of fire out of the midst of a burning bush
And the brush was not being consume by the fire
And Moses thought he was going to turn aside
And see this great thing that the brush was not consume.
And God said “ Moses “ “ Moses “
And Moses said here I Am
And God told Moses come not near
Take off your shoes cause this is Holy ground
And God told Moses that I am the God of Abraham Isaac & Jacob
And the LORD said I have seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt
And I have heard their cry
And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians
Note: The result of God’s concern is captured in the words I have come down (3:8), this is an idiom describing divine intervention.
God would (a) deliver them from Egypt and
(b) take them to a good and spacious land, unlike the Midianite desert.
To bring them to a land flowing with Milk & Honey
And God told Moses I’m send you to Pharaoh
That thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt
And Moses said who Am I that I should go to Pharaoh
And the Lord told Moses surely I will be with you
Then Moses tells God when I go to the children of Israel
And tell them that you sent me and if they ask me what is your name
God told Moses tell them that I AM THAT I AM have sent you
Exodus 4:10 (KJV)
10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
Moses’ statement in this verse has generated much misunderstanding
on the part of those who have not recognized it as a ritual protest
And it has often been taken literally
as if Moses actually either had a speech defect
or was incompetent as a public speaker or had forgotten his Egyptian
In fact, Moses did a huge amount of speaking
in the remainder of the Pentateuchal narrative and law,
yet nowhere did he reveal the slightest speech hesitancy
or inability to make himself understood.
Why, then, did he make the claim to be “slow of speech and of a slow tongue”?
The answer lies not in the organs, the tissues or the cells in the mouth
but it lies in the culture—
in the style of ancient Near Eastern “exaggerated humility,”
this was often employed in situations where one is appealing
for help or mercy at being given a great assignment
4:10 in a Nutshell — Moses has been away from Egypt and from that Hebrews for some 40 years.
It was 40 years since he has spoken the language the word tongue in the verse is language.
So he was not eloquent. His problem was with fluency not necessarily that he stuttered.
Remember Egyptian was never his native language so he struggled with it.
Since he grew up in Pharaoh’s house he didn't hear Hebrew much
after he was weaned from his mother
Note: And so whatever God was going to do with the children of Israel He was going to do it through Moses.
Note: But for God to reveal His attributes to Moses & His People he had to allow them to go down this route.
Note: There’s somebody here today that’s
STANDING — STARING — & Not SUPPORTING
because you got some MISINFORMED information about the Pastor LEADERSHIP
And when you don’t FOLLOW & CELEBRATE the Pastor
Behind God and your misinformation
MISINFORMATION delay you from your destination.
MISINFORMATION spoils the trip.
MISINFORMATION leads you into other problems.
