Exodus 3:7 ESV
Then the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings,
Egypt for the Israelites because of NEW MANAGEMENT became a place of affliction, and captivity.
Exodus 3:9 ESV
And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.
Affliction
Suffering
Oppression
Have you ever felt like God doesn’t see what you’re going through?
God do you see what’s going on in my Family?
God do you see the tears I am crying?
Do you hear me when I pray?
Over 400 years of captivity and slavery!
The harsh labor
Population control
Fearing the growing number of Israelites, Pharaoh ordered the midwives to kill all newborn Israelite boys.
Mistreatment
Despair and Loss of Hope
But God did not forget about them!
God Told moses I have seen the affliction & I have heard their cry
I’m so glad God still sees and hears!
I came to reminder you, He has not forgotten about you.
He knows........
And He is sending deliverance!
#2 My story of deliverance
Moses and Aaron Approach Pharaoh: Moses, with his brother Aaron, went to Pharaoh and delivered God's message: "Let my people go, so that they may worship me." However, Pharaoh refused.
As a result of Pharaoh's stubbornness, God brought ten plagues upon Egypt
Before the tenth plague, God instructed the Israelites to mark their doorposts with the blood of a sacrificed lamb.
This was a sign for the Lord to "pass over" these households and spare them from the death of the firstborn.
Exodus 12:12 ESV
For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the Lord.
Exodus 12:23 ESV
For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you.
Thank God for the blood!!!!!
I was delivered the same way.......
Remember the blood covers me from God......
After the tenth plague Pharoah urged for Isreal to leave
#3 I don’t understand
Exodus 14:1–2 ESV
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell the people of Israel to turn back and encamp in front of Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, in front of Baal-zephon; you shall encamp facing it, by the sea.
Wait why would you tell us to turn back?
Have you ever felt like when something looks like it progressing… Here comes something else!
I take 2 steps and I’m knocked back 5 steps
God I don’t understand your plan!
But God creates situations for revelation!
Exodus 14:3–4 ESV
For Pharaoh will say of the people of Israel, ‘They are wandering in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.’ And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them, and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.
God wanted to get the glory! Ex 14:10
Exodus 14:10 ESV
When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they feared greatly. And the people of Israel cried out to the Lord.
Exodus 14:13–14 ESV
And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”
What you don’t understand is..... God is trying to show you His mighty Hand!
The Lord will fight for you!!!!!
#4 It Doesn’t Take All That
The Children of Isreal was closed in from the sides
The red sea was in front of them
Pharoah and His army was behind
The Bible says that the Angel of the Lord that was in front of them went behind them and pillar of cloud
Moses stretched out his hand and the Lord drove back the sea…
The children of Isreal walked on dry ground…
When the Egyptians went after them that water returned.
Exodus 14:30 ESV
Thus the Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.
Moses and the people began to sing
Then Miriam took a tambourine..
Exodus 15:20 ESV
Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing.
People would say it doesn’t take all that....
But If you been through what I’ve been through.........
