James 2:18–26 (NKJV)

18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

1. How do I show my faith? By what I do? Or by what I say?

Of corse the answer is by what I do. we all know that.

Today i want to spend some time talking about what is coming up at church on the Rock, Abilene and why it matters.

The Harvest Fest.

Psalm 127:3 NKJV
3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Matthew 18:10 NKJV
10 “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.
we do the harvest fest so that kids can be safe.
we do the harvest fest to meet the family in the neighborhood.
we do the harvest fest so the kids have a positive experience in the Church. (Remember we are the Church. Kids need to know that Church people are real people and that fun is a part of the kingdom.)

The Baskets Thanksgiving & Christmas.

Proverbs 22:9 NKJV
9 He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor.
Proverbs 14:21 NKJV
21 He who despises his neighbor sins; But he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.
Deuteronomy 15:11 NKJV
11 For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’
Proverbs 28:27 NKJV
27 He who gives to the poor will not lack, But he who hides his eyes will have many curses.
Galatians 2:9–10 NKJV
9 and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. 10 They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.

Thanksgiving/Christmas Meals
