Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Humanity is Hopelessly Religious
Humanity is Hopelessly Religious
Throughout the widely different cultures geographically dispersed, and at all points from the least recorded groups in history to the largest gathering of data on today’s societies there will be found religion.
Philosophers throughout the centuries have tried to analyze and rationalize the religious pull of human nature to very little avail. Scheiermacher in the 19th century said that religion is a matter of feelings. Immanuel Kant refuted that it is possible to have a theoretical knowledge of the Transcendent. Kant believed that religion is an object of the practical reasons making religion a matter of ethics.
Religion can rightly be defined as belief or doctrine, feelings or attitude, and a way of life or ethics. So which religion is right?
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
In order to know about the Transcendent or as the Bible teaches, the spiritual, you must be able to interact with the spiritual.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
God desires humans to know Him
God desires humans to know Him
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Last Things.
We will never know everything about God
We will never know everything about God
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
We are called to know more about Him
We are called to know more about Him
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
