If you were to join the Armed Forces, you would be supplied with proven equipment and training materials to assist in your survival so that you can complete whatever mission is given to you. In the same way, once you’ve joined God’s family by confessing belief in the Son of God, you are given access to resources to make it through struggle and conflicts going forward. But unlike the Army or Air Force, your enemy is spiritual in nature, as are your conflicts with him. And unlike any armor or weapon you can make yourself, what’s been provided for you is made by the all-powerful maker of the universe, who knows exactly what YOU specifically need and when you need it.
