Intro
something silly that I will think of this afternoon and then forget for the rest of time
Command to Go
Command to Go
one of the last bits of the promise to Abraham fulfilled… or at least it should have been
they have finished at Sinai and are commanded to go
However, God still has qualms with the people because of the golden calf
the people are distressed
Moses’ Intercession
Moses’ Intercession
Moses speaks to God on behalf of the people
he goes alone and meets with God away from the people and they see the pillar of cloud go there
Moses pleads with God to go with them, that the people might continue to be reminded even though they are fickle
and so God says he will pass by as a sign
he will go with them because of Moses’ faith
he will be residing in the center of them
The Glory of the Lord
The Glory of the Lord
this is the image that concludes the Exodus
God filling the temple and leading them onward toward the promise
“throughout all their journeys” God is in the midst of his people
for better or worse
when they fail him and when they follow him
God lives among them in part for this time and in whole later
its an image of the goal God is working toward
Application
Application
the conclusion of the book
God is; keeper of his promises
the only one worth calling God
powerful
devoted unlike anyone or thing else
