Why do people go there?

Romans 3- righteousness and wages- what have you earned?

if we believe there is a God

if we know what it takes to be truly God and not just something I’ve made up

I deserve punishment for doing harm to the good that God designed, that is justice

this good life is an unfathomably great gift and if I spend it serving my self rather than being humble and grateful to the one who gave it, I will get what I have lived looking for- a life that ends in death

parable of the talents- Matthew 25- a gift wasted by a selfish perspective

Salvation and Grace

sin, faith, righteousness, death, grace all existed before the law

the law amplified these things by giving understanding

the ultimate of these things is the Christ who gives life that last forever, should we accept it

if anything other than God is my master, then I am living a life that simply ends in death- I get what I was after and deserved

I can only know as much about salvation and grace as scripture tells me

and it tells me that grace is a gift offered to be accepted and it is illustrated by most every major character in the new testament as beginning with my repentance of sin and my baptism into Christ

I hope that grace goes far beyond that- that many more don’t get what they deserve but come to understand that

but I know also that Jesus said that most will walk happily toward destruction despite my hope and despite my pleading with them
