Gods Getting Ready to Breakthrough

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing (John 15:1-5).

For thou wilt light my candle:

The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

29For by thee I have run through a troop;

And by my God have I leaped over a wall (Psalm 18:28-29)

Endued: ἐνδύω put on; dress; clothe

Opposition

The way is which we need to stand in the face of opposition is aptly described by a word the British use: “steady.” To illustrate this word’s meaning, picture a British commander in the nineteenth century as he and his regiment are being approached by a horde of Bedouins brandishing swords. As he awaits the battle, he reviews his past experiences in battle and his regiment’s capabilities and—being confident of victory—also considers the future sense of accomplishment this experience will give him. And so he remains “steady.”

As believers, we should learn to rely on the testimony of God’s past accomplishments, his present work in our lives, and his promise of ultimate victory, and thus remain “steady” in the face of opposition.

1. He has vanquished a host of enemies. A “troop.”

2. He has utterly vanquished them. “Through a troop.” Divided them, broken them up, scattered them.

3. He has done it easily. “I have run through a troop.” I “leaped over a wall.” He did not secretly undermine it, or painfully batter it, or just succeed in scaling it, he leaped over it. All enemies, all obstructions, have been triumphantly vanquished.

II. The source of his victory (Psalms 18:29-34). “By thee” (Psalms 18:29). “In thee, and in my God, i.e., in intimate union with Him and possession of Him, a much stronger sense than that of mere assistance (by thee), which, however, is included.”—Alexander.

1. The Psalmist trusted in God. He identified himself with God (Psalms 18:30). He entertained a lofty sense of God’s truth, and faithfulness, and power.

2. The Psalmist trusted in God alone (Psalms 18:31). God is a rock, a ground of confidence that cannot be shaken, and God alone is such a rock. And

3. God gave him the victory. God does all (Psalms 18:32). “Perfect, i.e., absolutely smooth, free from stumblings and errors, leading straight forward to a divine goal.”—Delitzsch. Strength in both its beginning and continuance is of God. He “girds” with strength at the outset and maketh the whole “way perfect” (Psalms 18:33). God establishes his feet. Enables him to stand where it seemed impossible to find footing; to scale heights which seemed utterly impracticable (Psalms 18:34). God gave him wisdom and prowess to defeat his foes. “It is not the bow of brass which has been David’s protection, but Jehovah’s shield covered him; Jehovah’s right hand held him up; Jehovah’s wonderful condescension made him great; Jehovah made room for him to stand, and subdue those that rose up against him.”—Perowne.

When darkness closes in on you

When the situation seems impossible

The verdict says one thing, but God says another

You feel alone but God is near

Your body is weak, but your prayers are powerful

Some of you have faced challenges in your life that were very hard to overcome, but you’re here

Now you’re in a place in life to where you are facing certain things that you can’t seem to overcome. You don’t have the answer for your problems.

Can I tell you that the enemy of your soul is a powerful creature. He is powerful because God created him. But he got kicked out of heaven because he abused his power

I’m here to tell someone that you can’t whip the devil on your own. You might can whip alot of things. You may be big and bad but you are no match for Satan.

What you are facing in your life is called a stronghold. Many good people with good intentions have fallen victim to the enemy because he is just too powerful for us.

I want you to hear me today. I didn’t come here to sing no sad songs because we have a God in heaven who has overcome the forces of darkness.

And having spoiled principalities nd powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it (Colossians 2:15)

Gods Getting Ready to Breakthrough

Someone here needs to understand that you are stuck in a spiritual stronghold and there is nothing that you can do within yourself to get out of it.

But I’ve come to tell you today that I know a God that is able to set you free from that stronghold

The oppressive power of the devil is no match for the liberation power of Jesus

King David said that he believed that he could run through a troop when God is on his side

We are so weak, we get tired when we are faced with one problem. David said I don’t care if a whole troop of problems come my way, I’m going to make it. I’m going to breakthrough. I will overcome.

Victory through Christ

An American admiral had a small card printed and circulated among his subordinates and workers. On it in gray type was this background: "It Can't Be Done," and then, in bold black type across this was printed, "But Here It Is." As we look at sin and realize its strength, defeat would seem to be inevitable were it not for Christ. "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." The phrase "which giveth us" is a present participle (didonti) in Greek. A better translation would be "who keeps on giving us." This is not just one victory that God gives us but a constant experience of victory through Christ.
