1 Peter 5:6-11

Be Humble. Be Vigilant. Be Resistant.
1. Humble yourselves before God and one another.God is going to exalt you… in due time.
2. Cast All Your Cares upon Him… Who? God. Why? Because He cares for you.
3. Be Self Controlled, Alert… Why? Because your adversary… Who? The devil. No my spouse, not my church family, not my boss, the president or emperor… Our true enemy is the devil. And he is coming after God’s people… to devour them.
4. Now, resist him. How? By being steadfast in the faith. The church is going through it. We will all suffer. Satan or his angels are coming, will come, and they are going to steal, kill and destroy. What do we do? Resist him. Fight.
5. God has called you.God has called you to Himself. He has called you to eternal glory. God has called you to suffer while you are here. And God is going to get you through it. god is going to sustain you. God is going to perfect you, establish you, strengthen you, and He will settle you.
6. What is our Christian attitude? Verse 11 - To you God, be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Your Kingdom come and your will be done. Change my life. Change this world. Whatever is done… May your great Name be known, exalted and proclaimed.
Whatever happens… May Christ be seen in me, in my family, and in my church. Through life… through death.Through a life without suffering or through a life with suffering… Oh, that God be pleased and honored. That people would look to God, worship God,and reflect God more and more.
This life and this world is not about my glory. This family and this church does not exist for our glory. We all exist to glorify God.
Is this what it takes for God to be glorified… lets go through it. If this is what it takes for people to come to him… lets go through it. Is this what it will take for me to love Christ more and to imitate Him more… Whatever it takes...
God be glorified now and froever.
