INTRODUCTION

Your attitude and your outlook directly affect your experience and outcome.
Your attitude and your outlook directly affect your experience and outcome.
I honestly believe that if I could constantly keep my attitude and my outlook in a position of gratitude and thanksgiving, I would live one of the happiest and fulfilled lives that has ever existed.
If I know this to be true, then why do I not do it? Why do I live my life often surrounded in misery and discontentment? This is a battle that we have fought since sin entered this world and one you will face the rest of your life.
My prayer is, that through God’s Word, and the Holy Spirit we can learn to grow our outlook and attitude more and more towards one of gratitude with each day that passes.
The next four Sundays leading up to Thanksgiving, We will focus on tuning our hearts to thankfulness. 4 Sundays we will answer Who should be thankful? How Can we be thankful? Where/when are we thankful? and What are we thankful for?
Have you ever found yourself in a season where the sky is falling. Where every little thing is the worst thing. It makes me thingk of eore ......
There is always something for everyone to be grateful for. I know that is cliche and sounds like a wooden sign from Hobby Lobby, but it is true. Things could always be worse.
Now I am not saying that hard times and hard things dont happen. If I were to tragically lose one of my children, I would expect no one to come to me and say, well at least you didnt lose all three, you wont here it for me. But there is wisdom in understanding God’s soverignty and working to understanding how grateful I was for the years God allowed me to have.

3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Set your heart on things above. I want us to think on that for a second. What does that mean.
Talk about Mamaw payne
This is what I mean. Constantly filtering everything through a filter of what God has done and what he is going to do.
Our vision is often so clouded with what is in front of us and the outlook we have.
When all you do is walk around with a hammer everything looks like nails.
you were raised with Christ, your mind is now transformed, the old mind is dead

5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

Christ is all and in all.
Therefore as God’s chosen and holy people.
What if Peyton was wearing a kentucky jersey. We would be so mad. He has clothed himself all wrong. Christians who are sour and angry are wearing the wrong clothes

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
