We will conclude our series on prayer today: How often we should pray?

Before we get into the answer to this question let’s look at a Biblical Truth that we must realize and grasp!

A lot of people believe praying is a choice we make as individuals to reach out to God. QUESTION: DO YOU HAVE A DEEP BURNING DESIRE TO PRAY?

Let’s see what scripture says!

Romans 8:13-16

Prayer is initiated by God! The Holy Spirit inside the believer creates the desire for us to “cry out, ABBA FATHER”

**NOTICE VERSE 16: THE SPIRIT HIMSELF! BEARS WITNESS WITH OUR SPIRIT THAT WE ARE CHILDREN OF GOD! AMEN! HALLELUJAH!

***Remember the question? DO YOU HAVE A DEEP DESIRE TO PRAY? If you do not, Houston there is a problem! Believers, being a NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST, WITH THE SPIRIT INSIDE: REALLY WANT TO PRAY!

LET’S look at Galatians 4:6-7

If that desire is not inside of you, the scripture plainly states that you do not belong to Him!

2 Peter 3:9 NKJV
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Prayer is ONLY between God and His Children! EXCEPT FOR ONE PRAYER! Turn to Romans 10:9-10

9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Now to our main question: As a believer how often should I pray?

Turn to 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Paul tells us here to pray without ceasing!

Luke 18:1

1. We should always pray and not loose heart! Don’t give up praying! Keep praying!

2. We should always be in a Spirit of Prayer! We should never be more than a thought away from prayer. *Be ready to turn anything into a prayer!

Here are some examples:

A. If I’m going to an appointment of any kind: Pray about that appointment

B. If I see a beautiful sunrise or beautiful mountains, God’s creation: Thank Him for that!

Pray without ceasing is developing your mindset; so as you go through each and every day everything you see, everything you feel, every thought you have becomes communion with God and your focus is GOD-WARD! Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
