Finding Faith

Introduction:

Good morning, I am glad to be here with all of you this morning for Bible class. for those I haven’t got to be introduce too yet, My name is Nathan Johnson. I grew up in Bartlesville, OK. I grew up in the Church, and I graduated Crowley Ridge College with a bachelor's degree in Youth and Family Ministry out in Paragould Arkansas. For this Sunday we are going to be looking at Faith, How do we acquire Faith as Christians, The importance of Faith, and why Sharing our Faith is important. When we as Christians come together to worship God, we understand that we have the same Faith towards God. Eph 4:5

Ephesians 4:5 NKJV

one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

What is Faith?

before we go deep into this class, What is Faith? Does anyone know the definition of Faith?

Google Definition of Faith is “Complete trust or confidence in someone or something. Now then what is the Christian or Biblical definition of Faith? that is Absolutely correct, Lets go ahead turn in our Bibles to Heb 11:1-3

Hebrews 11:1–3 NKJV

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

What can we Take from these three verses in Hebrews?

The first is the definition Verse one we see that it is exactly the same as Google’s definition.

Elders obtained good testimony.

By Faith we understand that God created everything from things that are not seen.

Now we can Identify two other words with Faith. these two words are Believe and Trust. as you study the Bible you begin to understand that Faith can be either of these or both.

How do we Acquire Faith?
