0 RX am I was fine. That was really fun. Haters are going to hate. All right, so check this out raise your hand if you've ever gotten a note sent home to your parents by teacher. It was a bad when they got to be a bad one. Not a good one. It's going to be a bad one. Or email or they they updated on the app or whatever. All right, so good to know that. I'm in good company. Let me see a story dial in real quick. Lin real quick. Wells in the first grade Brennen Elementary School, Miss Thomas was my teacher and she said that I talk too much. That was exactly that was her opinion. She's entitled to her opinion. She can have her opinion but she sent a note home and oh mama and papa client didn't like that. They did not like the fact that the teacher was mad and there was punishment to be bailed out back hand for hand. It was awful. When I look at James chapter 4 it almost feels like James who is talking to this group of Christians. It's almost like the teacher sent a bad note home about what these people have been doing because James is pretty fired up like he sees these people are getting ready to not have a good day when James responds to him. Check out what he says in verse 12 these Christians and he says, why do you fight and argue with each other isn't it? Because you're full of selfish desires that fight to control your body you want something you don't have and you will do anything to get it you will even kill but you still cannot get what you want and you won't get it by fighting in argument. So Jamestown, there's some stuff going on fighting or arguing getting upset at each other. I know that's hard for you guys to imagine, but just imagine if you ever were fighting with Set it down. And so I'm going to I'm going to give you a question here. I'm going to try to boil it down. I want you to think about the last time that you were mad with someone. Maybe it's a friend of yours. Maybe you got in a fight with your parents chances are I would be willing to bet that the majority of time do you get upset and someone is because this is going to be hard to hear. Okay? If I got you. Big girl big boy pants on chances are you are mad because you didn't get your way. Your parents made you do something and it's not what you wanted to do or something happened at school and somebody else got something but you didn't get it. Somebody else is cooler than you somebody else is more popular than you somebody has a cooler phone to you. Somebody's parents. Let them do something at your parents didn't do and you didn't get your way and now all of a sudden you're mad and you're complaining and all of that. Jane says man some of us when we don't get our way. We just get mad and we get upset and we cry about it. Here's the first thing that they don't want to I want to make sure you understand is you're taking that job now if using the app shout out the Jordan 4 update and you out number one first thing James says is this I got problems I got problems. I want you to turn to your neighbor and say you got problems. Okay, now turn turn to your other turn to your other neighbor and I want you to stay with little bit of sass. I want you to say it like Melania says it I want you to go you got problems.

Yeah, you got problems girl. All right. I'll sit down. All right, here's what it is. James says this you are because you're selfish the main person that you and I think about is you you think about you how I feel how I what I want what I want to do what I like all of this is about you not here's what you should do when this happens like when you get selfish like you having a fight with somebody you should pray about it yet. Even when you pray your prayers are not answer because you pray just for selfish reasons. Man, that's crazy. James says some of the arrangements you ever prayed a prayer and it didn't get answered. Yeah, right for sure. Everybody in Jane says pay some of you to just raise your hand your praying prayers and you may not realize this but the reason why your prayer isn't getting answer is because when you pray the only person you care about is you You like God give me this. Do this for me. I want this. This is what I'm demanding and James says, hey man, I'm going to give you a heads up if you start to approach God being a meanie monster like it's all about Mimi Mimi Mimi. Like God's not going to answer that. Like, why would God answer that? Why would God want to be around somebody to talk about me? Is this all about me. I'm the only person I care about is so check this out. Like you're praying prayers and James just let Hey heads up. They're never going to get answered. Because the only thing you pray about is you the only person is life you want to be better is you so James says first of all when you have a problem then like all you think about is you it can even affect your relationship with God ever been around somebody that itches all about them. Like they are all they care about they are all they talk about it. If if they're happy if they have it then that's all and they don't care about you and I don't care about anybody else but God doesn't really particular administrative hanging with people like that. It's what we call out to God. Oh my God, give me this do this for me. I want this and James says man got that's that's not fair likeness. You going up to like a vending machine, right? That's you coming up to God as the Coke machine to be like give me this you just like punching the button and beating up against the glass. And you said God give it to me give give this to me. So he's like man it if that's how you approach prayer answered cuz if it's all about you then When it's all about you. Man, I don't like to hang out with people like that. People are self-centered that are selfish that it's just me all the time. All they want to talk about his Mimi me Mimi says this you people aren't faithful to God don't you know, if you love the world you're God's enemies and if you decide to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. Do you doubt the scriptures that say God truly cares about the spirit that he is put inside of us. So James is just flat-out like this is just he just like punching people now like he's slapping people. He's just like he uses some pretty crazy language here. And he says this imagine that she says you are cheating on. Anybody ever been cheated on before that computer back? There was like

Yeah, man, like nobody that that's terrible and what the Bible says is like if you if you're a Christian, but like you're just doing whatever you want to do and your life is all about you and your focus and you're being selfish then it's like you're cheating on your like God. You're my Lord You're My Savior. I love you. I'm all wanting Jesus, but I'm going to be going and hanging out and doing these other things with these other people that I know you don't like it. So James like kicks the door down and he was just like a look heads up you are cheating on. That's what it's like when your life is all about you and not about God and others but you're you're cheating. It's like you're breaking the trust in this relationship that you have with God you claim to love God, but you live a life is obviously not about loving God, so he's pretty bold here. So he tells us all of those things in versus 6. He says this in fact God treats us with every greater time is just as the scripture say God opposes everyone who is proud that He blesses all those who are humble with undeserved Grace. So here's your the end to James says this you have a problem. You have a problem. I got a problem in the next verse. He says you are so self-centered. The only person you care about yourself is yourself and that even heard your prayer life that's killing your relationship with God. The only person you care about number three, he says you chose and everyone else over got like you're cheating on. It's so big drum roll in versus 6, we get to see how God responds. How would you respond if you were hanging out with someone and the only person they cared about was themselves and the only person they talked about was themselves and they were just all about me in your bad and you're ugly and you're not how it is. You don't have anything and I'm the best and I'm the greatest and then that same person what if they cheated on you? How would you respond to them? Universe 6 it shows how God responds to us when we're like that cuz all of us are like that and it says but He blesses all who are hung out with undeserved Grace, that's crazy now but Grace but God gives you Grace when you are stuck up when you're a snob when you are self-centered and selfish and all you can think about it talk about is you and you don't care about anybody else but you got issues Grace to us. Now this another some big butts in the Bible for God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. That's a that's a big but that's that's a blood in the Bible. Another one for the wages of sin is death. The consequences of your sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life. I love that. That's that's a good but and this is another big butt, but he blessed. Call who are humble with undeserved. Grace Grace is when you get something good that you don't deserve remember, you're all about you. No one wants to hang out with you. You're an absolute. Loser. When your whole life is about you all your friends are talking behind your back when you make your life on look at me. I'm the best. I'm inviting. Nobody likes you but the Bible says God steps in and says but even your broken is God is going to give you Grace. That's a that's a big mover last versus this when he says surrender to God resist the devil and he will run from you come near to God and he will come near you. Listen to voices here. Clean up your lives you spinners. Purify your hearts. You people can't make up your mind be sad and sorry and we stop laughing start trying to be humble in the Lord's presence and he will so here he gives us the the answer to what you need to do with. This is what I want to ask you to do some night. Here's the way I like to phrase it number 3 tonight. I won't ask you to take out the trash. Take out the trash. There is in my house one of the responsibilities of a gather up all of the trash and I take the trash out and tonight. I had to roll the cart to the to the to the edge of the road and they're going to pick the trash up if I didn't pick up the trash and take it out. What would what would happen? It is not my whole house is going to stay. The trash cans are going to be piled up all the food like from a week ago that I didn't take out in like all in the whole house is going to stick his enough supplies in there and trash in a pile up everywhere and it's going to be on the floor and that's the analogy that James gets here. He's like, hey, man, if you don't clean up your life, then trash is going to pile up everywhere like this. And you have in your life is going to start to stink like no one wants to be in a house where there's trash everywhere and it stinks all the time in like there's old food and flies and maggots in your house. So if your house is gross and James says your life if you have sand in it, it's gross. And nobody wants to be around it. It's disgusting and it stinks and Everybody's Talkin about how gross your your houses? James just gives us a simple solution that just take out the trash. So what does it mean to take out the trash? Image to take the things in your life that you know or not right that you disobeyed God and you're like our God this guy has got to go. And you take that out and you're like this is not going to be in my Licensing in the trash is over here and you've turned away from it and you're walking back towards God. That's where it's just me to take out the trash. She says clean up your life trash does not belong in the house trash goes to the trash. Can the trash can goes out to the dump get it far away from you so you can have the life that God has for you. So when you understand number one that you got a problem and it ended no one likes it when it's all about you and then you understand that Jesus looks at that and says, but I'm going to choose to forgive you and I'm going to give you another chance then your response brighten out. Your response is to take out the trash at Lord. Thank you. Thanks for thanks for letting me know that getting that out of my life and I want to move forward right now. I'm just talked about what it means to take out the trash in your life and maybe you got some trash if you just let him know. Thanks for the heads up man. I just realized I got and I need to get it out and I don't want it in my house and on my life. Sound good. We pray for us. Thanks for your word. Thanks for the challenge by James even though it feels like a slap in the face is just a good reminder. There's things in our lives that they don't need to be there in that. We just need to admit it and be thankful for the grace to give us and take the trash out. So I just pray that we just be honest and be willing to admit where we mess up and get that out of our Lives repent and turn back to you tonight.
