The End of A Thing and The Beginning of a Great Thing!
Isaiah 43:18-19
Do not call to mind the former things or ponder things of the past. “Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.
At some point in our spiritual journey, we all reach a pivotal moment of longing—an earnest yearning for a breakthrough from the Lord!
It might be a job opportunity, healing, restoration, or financial provision and we stand at the threshold, with hearts eager for change, ready to step into the next chapter of our walk of faith!
The wait for our breakthrough, for God’s divine intervention can be tedious and even discouraging.
It’s in these moments that God often steps forward and instructs us to not remember the former things or ponder on the past.
Why does God instruct us not to call to mind the former things or ponder the things of the past?
I believe it is because God is getting us ready for The End of a THING and The Beginning of a Great THING!
There are at least three things we need in order to participate in The Beginning of a Great THING!
I. We need to SEE the new REVELATION!
Matthew 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.
What is required for our eyes to be blessed by the new revelation we see?
Luke 5:38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.
What is the meaning of new wine in this verse? It means revelation from God, it is called RHEMA in the N.T. and it occurs when the Spirit of God unveils truths from God’s word, by God’s voice, through the Holy Spirit!
LOGOS is: RHEMA is:
*God’s Complete Word *God’s Spoken Word
LOGOS is: RHEMA is:
*God’s Complete Truth *God’s Specific Truth
LOGOS is: RHEMA is:
*God’s Complete Message *God’s Personal Message
LOGOS is: RHEMA is:
*God’s Complete Scripture *God’s Quickening Scripture
*LOGOS produces Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding
BUT
*RHEMA produces Faith, Passion and Life
**Look at some of the references to RHEMA:
**Mt 4:4 . . . but on every WORD that proceeds out of the mouth
**Mt 12: 36 . . . every careless WORD that people speak!
**Mt 26: 75 And Peter remembered the WORD . . . had spoken!
**Lk 1: 38 . . . may it be done to me according to your WORD!
**Jn 6: 63 the WORDS that I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life!
**2 Cor 12: 4 . . . was caught up to Paradise and heard inexpressible WORDS, which a man is not permitted to speak!
**Eph 6: 17 and take the sword of the spirit which is the WORD of God!
What is the meaning of wineskins in this verse? It is a reference to the container the wine is being poured into.
‌As wineskins, we must develop an inner organized filing system for the revelation of God’s RHEMA!
‌Sometimes God’s RHEMA comes to us through dreams, visions, and prophetic words!
What hinders us from receiving the new wine or revelation from God?
Luke 5:39 “And no one, after drinking old wine wishes for new; for he says, ‘The old is good enough.’”
One hindrance to us entering our next level breakthrough is becoming too satisfied with the old or the familiar!
There is nothing wrong with the old or familiar wine, it is still revelation from God, but it is designed to pave the way for the new wine!
However, when we become too satisfied with the old wine, we can become so familiar with it that we say, “the old is good enough.”
When this occurs, it becomes a religious tradition that is more important to us than Truth.
And then it becomes difficult for us to enter The Beginning of a Great THING!
‌Matthew 13:16 “But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.
We need to SEE the new REVELATION and:
II. We need to SEED the new HARVEST!
2 Corinthians 9:6 Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
We need to understand the laws built into the harvest:
We reap WHAT we sow! We reap AFTER we sow!
We reap MORE than we sow!
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.
Kingdom VISION requires Kingdom PROVISION! Where does our provision come from?
2 Corinthians 9:10 Now He who supplies seed to the Sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
How do we know WHERE to sow and how MUCH to sow?
2 Corinthians 9:7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
I believe we are living in the last days leading to the end of the age of the Gentiles. The question is this:
‌Luke 8:18 “So take care how you listen; for whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him.”
Luke 18:8 “I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”
We need to SEE the new REVELATION; we need to SEED the new HARVEST and:
III. We need to SPEAK the new PROPHECIES!
1 Corinthians 14:3 But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation.
What does it mean to prophesy? It means to hear the voice of God through the Spirit of God and speak what you heard for the purpose of edification, exhortation and consolation!
‌1 Corinthians 14:24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all.
What can happen when the Body of Christ speaks the new prophecies God is revealing?
1 Corinthians 14:25 the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you.
What do the secrets of his heart being disclosed mean? It refers to “hidden treasures” like “gold being discovered in the soil.”
When God reveals the hidden treasures to us that may be buried in the soil of a person’s heart, God will use it to convince the person that God is real and there is a powerful destiny ready to be fulfilled!
**Allow me to give you an example of God’s Spoken Word becoming a Specific Word that will result in it being a RHEMA word to someone today. . .
Now here is the hard part of this prophetic promise, the part you will really need “ears to hear.” Often a prophecy’s impact is only as good as the wineskin that receives it and the response you make to it.
So, welcome to your Next Level Breakthrough: It’s The End Of The Good Thing and The Beginning of the Great Thing! Are You Ready To Become a New Wine-skin and Receive Your Rhema Words from God through the Holy Spirit!
1 Corinthians 14:31 For you can all prophesy one by one; so that all may learn and all may be exhorted!
What is necessary for everyone to be able to prophesy one by one so that all may learn and all may be exhorted?
Luke 5:38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.
I have been impressed of the Lord to declare to you, The End of a THING and the Beginning of a GREAT THING!
Are you ready to SEE the New Revelation from God?
Are you ready to SEED the New HARVEST from God?
Are you ready to SPEAK the new PROPHECIES from God?
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.
As God is bringing The End of a Good Thing and preparing you for The Beginning of The Great Thing: Do Four Things:
Pastor James Costa:
1. LOOK to God’s PROMISES He has made to you!
2. LISTEN for DIRECTION from His Word!
3. LEAN on the Holy Spirit for PEACE!
4. LET God move in His perfect TIMING!
