Spiritual Food

John 4:31–33 (ESV)

Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”

But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”

So the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?”

Disciples present a question as to what is the food that Jesus eats

The function of food is this:

Give energy

sustains the body

(When you eat a burger, it gives you fuel to do your daily, but eventually the fuel runs out.)

What would happen if you were to stop eating?

You would get hangry

You will grow numb

You will eventually die

It works the same way in the spiritual realm

If you stop eating, you will spiritually get hangry

Numb

Die

So what is this spiritual food?

John 4:34 ESV

Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.

Our Food is to do the will of the one who send us, and to complete his work

We have to understand His will in order to eat. We have to know what He wants!

John 4:36 (ESV)

Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together.

If you reap, if you step out, you receive the pay. That is fuel for your journey Of course if you don’t eat, what happens?

You get tired

Exhausted

Burnt out

No energy to walk your daily life

Not applying the Bible is like buying a burger at the restaurant and staring at it. It does no good and you aren’t eating it!

You need to eat. Its necessary. But in order to do that, It is crucial to tend to His voice, His will, and your calling
