The Exodus of Gods Children

Text: Exodus 1

The messages that God has been touching my heart to teach and to preach is concerning something that is happening here in this church, the Exodus.

Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers out of jealousy. God used it to do His own will! The family of Joseph, his father, and his brothers had come to Egypt during a hard time when many were starving. Verse 1 – 7 tells of the family of Joseph and then it tells of a new government!

There were about 64 years between the time of Joseph and the time of Moses so by now there was a new Pharaoh a new government and a new way of thinking.

Verse 9 – 10 people forget what we do for them but God never forgets!

Hebrews 6:10KJV

10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Verse 10 the king said “let us deal wisely” (Let’s outsmart them) but mans wisdom is foolishness to God!

Job 5:13KJV

13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.

Proverbs 16:25KJV

25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Verse 11 the taskmasters made life hard on the Israelites. That ended up helping the Jews in the end. 1. They became stronger in body 2. They became less happy with their surroundings and were thinking about God! 3. They were now praying and looking to God to save them before they were satisfied. 4. They grew in faith!

Hebrews 12:6-11KJV

6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. 11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Verse 19 the midwives did they lie? Maybe not; the Jewish women were stronger and more able to have children in the field rather than wait for a midwife while the Egyptian women were weaker they didn’t have to serve as slaves they were wealthy weak!

God blessed the midwives for saving the children!

Genesis 12:3KJV

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
