How to truly believe and trust I’m saved

defintions

truly

Revelation Revelation 7

amén) was an adverb meaning “truly,” solemnly affirming the truth of what followed. In the Old Testament amen only rarely ends prayers.

In the Gospels amen often precedes the teachings of Jesus, especially in the grave, “truly I say to you” (“truly, truly I say to you” in John’s Gospel) Matthew 5:18; John 3:3. In the Epistles, “amen” has become the standard conclusion for prayer that we are familiar with, although its meaning still is “the prayer just spoken is the solemn truth” rather than simply “this prayer is completed.” In Revelation 7:12, the first amen could better be translated “truly.”
