Make me a Sanctuary”

1 Chronicles 22:19 (KJV)

19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.

Exodus 25:8-9 (KJV)

8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. 9 According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.

For some time now we have mentioned from time to time the possibility of being given 3 choices. Either having to move into another building one we will rent or buy, having to build another building, or what we may have thought most of at first buying or renting this place.

Renting is a temporary thing, what you pay for this month may not be what you have next month. Any additions, repairs, or anything at all is given to the owner of the building, you don’t have them later and if you leave you can’t take them with you. By law everything that is attached to the building belongs to the owner not the renter an example would be the sign (although I plan to take it with me because nobody else would have any use for the thing). In other words I don’t think renting is a viable option.

Churches are identified by the building they are placed in. such as the Lighthouse church was at the Western Auto building, Jamie Stump’s church is at Old Virginia Church building. I want us to be not simply be at the Laundromat, or another used facility but in our own building Abounding Grace Assembly of God building. For that we need 1. Land 2. A Building 3. The funds to build it.

This new church will have some things I want to make sure you all understand. First of all the deed will read the owners as the Kentucky District Council of the Assemblies of God. You may ask why well this is why:

  1. We want to build a church that will be what it is from now on a Pentecostal church not just whatever somebody decides they want it to be. Old Virginia,
  2. I want a church that will have a minister at the reigns who is
