What Am I Thankful For

Let me ask for some help from some of you this morning to help prove a point for this mornings sermon.
What are some things that you are thankful for?
Why?
Each of you that I asked to come up here and speak about the things you are thankful for, what happened when you began to talk about them? You grew in your gratitude for them . Not only that, it was contagious in this room this morning. When you here people speak about the things they are thankful for, you are filled with joy and begin to think about things that you are thankful for.
So I think it is smart that we speak this morning to WHAT we are thankful for. Last week we spoke about WHO and that is all of us. Today we will talk about things we can all be thankful for.
When you’re busy saying what youre thankful for, its hard to constantly complain about what you’re not thankful for.
I played Golf this week and yes it was freezing cold, yes I played bad as I always do, Yes I looked foolish on many shots, yes there was traffic on the way back home, yes there were difficult things throughout the day but that was not on the forefront of my mind. I just enjoyed being out there constantly remoinding myself of being healthy enough to enjoy it and be with friends
So what are the things we should be thankful for everyday.

Grateful for Life

13 For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful,

I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you

when I was made in the secret place,

when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;

all the days ordained for me were written in your book

Fearfully made // made with care reverance and extreme responsibility
Wonderfully made // you are a wonder of Gods works
1. 100 trillion cells started with one.
Your body is made up of approximately 100 trillion cells.
They all came from the division of one single cell. Every
minute, 300 million cells die, but that’s really just a small
fraction of the total cells we have. We produce 300 billion
new cells every day and your body is constantly repairing
and rebuilding.
2. Your brain is an amazing super-computer.
The brain is composed of 80 percent water. The brain can
hold five times as much information as the Encyclopedia
Britannica. Nerve impulses travel at 170 miles per hour. Oh,
and it does all this on the same amount of power as a 10-
watt light bulb.
3. Hair today…
Every day, the average person loses 60 to 100 strands of hair.
But there’s good news: We have to lose over 50 percent of
our scalp hairs before anyone notices. Also, hair is virtually
indestructible. Aside from flammability, human hair decays
at such a slow rate that it is practically non-disintegrative.
4. Your heart works its heart out for you.
The human heart creates enough pressure to squirt blood
30 feet. Such pressure is needed to pump blood through
60,000 miles of veins and capillaries. The heart pumps 6
quarts of blood, circulating three times every minute. In
one day, your blood travels a total of 12,000 miles.
5. Your skin is the ultimate touch screen.
Each square inch of your skin includes four yards of nerve
fibers, 600 pain sensors, 1300 nerve cells, 9000 nerve
endings, 36 heat sensors, 75 pressure sensors, 100 sweat
glands, 3 million cells, and 3 yards of blood vessels.
6. Your eyes alone are a study in genius.
Our eyes can distinguish up to one million color surfaces
and take in more information than the largest existing
telescope. People blink once every four seconds. That’s
because eyelashes act as windshield wipers, keeping dust
and grime from getting into the eye itself.
7. The liver is a hardworking organ.
Your liver works hard at over 400 functions, including
detoxification, protein synthesis, and the production of
biochemicals necessary for digestion. However, you could
have two-thirds of your liver removed from trauma or
surgery, and it would grow back to its original size in four
weeks.
8. Take a deep breath.
Your lungs have a surface area the size of a tennis court. To
oxygenate blood, our lungs are filled with thousands of
microscopic capillaries. The large surface area makes it
easier for this to take place and to get the oxygen where it
needs to go.
9. You have a disposable stomach lining.
Your stomach gets a brand new lining every four days.
Strong digestive acids quickly dissolve the mucus-like cells
lining the walls of the stomach. So your body replaces
them, routinely, before they are compromised.
10. You can’t hide from your fingerprints.
Just three months intoa pregnancy, an
unborn child already has fingerprints. At just
6 to 13 weeks of development, the distinctive whorls have
already developed. Interestingly, those fingerprints will never change throughout a person’s life. And your fingerprints are your own unique bar code indicating the true miracle you are.
There is so much more that you could be even more amazed about, but God has given you a mircale. life itself. Each day we should be grateful

Grateful for this country

Ok, so this one can be a bit of hot topic, but I dont really think that it should be. I am fully aware the USA is not mentioned in scripture. The constitution or declaration are not parts of scripture. This country is not perfect and has many faults and many failures and this country will one day go away, just like every empire. BUTTTT
Yall I am thankful to live and be born in the USA. As it sits now, there is no threat to worship. There is no tyrany to take away our freedoms. Even at this countries worst, it has been better than many at their best.
Bein blessed to be born in this country is an opportunity for you and for me to use the freedoms that God has graciously shown upon us and daily declare the life transforming power of the gospel

Grateful for Family

Thankful for your family and for children

3 Children are a heritage from the LORD,

offspring a reward from him.

4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior

are children born in one’s youth.

5 Blessed is the man

whose quiver is full of them.

They will not be put to shame

when they contend with their opponents in court.

Grateful for Community and Church

42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

Grateful for Jesus

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

What was said before this
