A God of Reproof (Hosea 11:12-12:14)

Who does God correct?

God reproves the faithful walker. (11:12-12:6)

God reproves Judah who has been fairly faithful.

Higher standard

Just being “good” is not enough.

We can accept correction even when walking fairly faithfully.

God reproves the wicked dealer. (1, 7-14)

God reproves Ephraim for their wickedness.

Way out of line

We can also expect God’s correction when we stray far.

We can expect consequences for rebellion against God.

We can repent of our sins, whether we have strayed a little or a lot.
