What God Call Sin We Must Also

There has been a decisive movement of the secular world to normalize homosexual relationships, and some Christian denominations have joined this effort. Still it is abundantly clear that the Bible identifies homosexual relationships as sinful.

The first mention of homosexual relationships in the Bible is in Gen19:4-5, were it is told that the men of Sodom demanded to have sexual relations with two men (Angels) whom Lot had invited into his home.

Sodomy: which means having the proclivities

Genesis 19:4–5 NKJV

Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.”

Galatians 6:1 ESV Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

“For all have sinned” (Romans 3:23). Ministers are to warn people of God’s judgment and also tell them of God’s love.

Sin: The original translation means "to miss the mark" of God's holy standard of righteousness.

Law of Moses The Law of Moses was an earthly copy of an eternal, heavenly, unchanging standard of holiness. “Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens” (Psalm 119:89). Jesus taught the unbending character of the Law of Moses: “It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law” (Luke 16:17). God’s law is unchanging because God is unchanging (Psalm 55:19; James 1:17). Jesus Himself kept the law and often referred people to it (see Matthew 5:27–28; 22:37–39; Mark 3:4; Luke 10:25–28; 22:7–8).

The Law of Moses is often divided into three broad categories: moral laws, civil (or judicial) laws, and ceremonial laws:

Moral laws reflects God’s holy, unchanging character.

Civil laws were regulations on the day-to-day life of the Hebrew people. These laws governed such things as marriage and divorce, sexual conduct, and property rights and set the penalties for various crimes ranging from theft to kidnapping to slander.

Ceremonial laws related to the manner that the Israelites were to worship God. The ceremonial laws instructed on the proper way to offer sacrifices, perform rituals, and celebrate festivals. The laws governing what was “clean” and “unclean” were in this category.

We call for fundamental reform of the laws regarding relations between youths and adults.

Romans 1:18-32 The Message Ignoring God Leads to a Downward Spiral

18-23 But God’s angry displeasure erupts as acts of human mistrust and wrongdoing and lying accumulate, as people try to put a shroud over truth. But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can’t see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So nobody has a good excuse. What happened was this: People knew God perfectly well, but when they didn’t treat him like God, refusing to worship him, they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives. They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life. They traded the glory of God who holds the whole world in his hands for cheap figurines you can buy at any roadside stand.

24-25 So God said, in effect, “If that’s what you want, that’s what you get.” It wasn’t long before they were living in a pigpen, smeared with filth, filthy inside and out. And all this because they traded the true God for a fake god, and worshiped the god they made instead of the God who made them—the God we bless, the God who blesses us. Oh, yes!

26-27 Worse followed. Refusing to know God, they soon didn’t know how to be human either—women didn’t know how to be women, men didn’t know how to be men. Sexually confused, they abused and defiled one another, women with women, men with men—all lust, no love. And then they paid for it, oh, how they paid for it—emptied of God and love, godless and loveless wretches.

28-32 Since they didn’t bother to acknowledge God, God quit bothering them and let them run loose. And then all hell broke loose: rampant evil, grabbing and grasping, vicious backstabbing. They made life hell on earth with their envy, wanton killing, bickering, and cheating. Look at them: mean-spirited, venomous, fork-tongued God-bashers. Bullies, swaggerers, insufferable windbags! They keep inventing new ways of wrecking lives. They ditch their parents when they get in the way. Stupid, slimy, cruel, cold-blooded. And it’s not as if they don’t know better. They know perfectly well they’re spitting in God’s face. And they don’t care—worse, they hand out prizes to those who do the worst things best!
