Psalm 139:1 NASB95
O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
Not only do you see me, you have looked deep inside me, and you really know me
Psalm 139:2–3 NASB95
You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
you keep up with me, everywhere I go
whether I am up and active or laying down
you intimately acquainted . . you know every single step of every single day
Psalm 139:4 NASB95
Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O Lord, You know it all.
not only do you hear all of my words, you know what I am going to say before I say it
say something smart, stupid, helpful, regretful
Psalm 139:5 NASB95
You have enclosed me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me.
you are all around me
like air is all around you
your hand is on me . . . like a parent puts their hand on a chid
Psalm 139:6 NASB95
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it.
I’m saying it, but the concept is so deep, I really don’t get it . . . how involved you are in my life
Psalm 139:7 NASB95
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
God, you are always with me
I couldn’t get away from you if I wanted to
He goes on to say inverses 8 -11
alive in this world you’re with me
even on the other side of death . . . you are there
even if I travel to the remotest part of the sea - smallest island that’s not on anyone’s map - your hand would still guide and strengthen me
day or night doesn’t matter, you see me still the same
noon and the midnight hour are the same to you
Psalm 139:13-16
