Psalm 30:1–5 NIV84
1 I will exalt you, O Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. 2 O Lord my God, I called to you for help and you healed me. 3 O Lord, you brought me up from the grave; you spared me from going down into the pit. 4 Sing to the Lord, you saints of his; praise his holy name. 5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

1. In this world you will have trouble

John 16:33 “33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.””

Sub Point 1: God rescues us from the depths of despair

Psalm 40:2 “2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”

Sub Point 2: God’s comfort in the midst of sorrow

2 Corinthians 1:3–4 “3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”

Sub Point 3: God replaces our mourning with joy

Isaiah 61:3 “3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”
Psalm 126:5–6 “5 Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. 6 He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.”

2. Joy comes in the Morning

Sub Point 2.1: The promise of joy after weeping

Psalm 126:5–6 “5 Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. 6 He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.”

Sub Point 2.2: The place of joy

Psalm 16:11 “11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore

Sub Point 2.3: The purpose of joy

Nehemiah 8:10 “10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.””

3. Trust God’s timing

Sub Point 3.1: Don’t get ahead of God, wait for God’s deliverance

Psalm 27:14 “14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Sub Point 3.2: The characteristics of transformed praise

Don’t get ahead of God
Ecclesiastes 3:11 “11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

Sub Point 3.3: Wait on the Lord and rise above your storms

Isaiah 40:31 “31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

4. Then a new day arrives

Sub Point 4.1: God promised new mercies every morning

Lamentations 3:22–23 “22 Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for his mercies never end. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness!

Sub Point 4.2: Make every day count

Psalm 118:24 “24 This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

Sub Point 4.3: Live your life looking for the “THEN”-- hope and anticipation

Romans 8:17–18 “17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. 18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
2 Corinthians 1:20 “20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
