Today we gather here to honor you. We recognize the sacrifices made by those who have fought for our freedoms and by their families who waited anxiously for them to return home.
So today we are hear to say thank you for those who are still with us and to honor those who have passed.
When I think about all of the freedoms protected by our brave men and women. the one for which I am most thankful is the freedom to worship freely without fear.
While it is true that this freedom is a God-given right to choose to worship Him or not. I am thankful that our armed forces protect and recognize this right and fight for it.
I am thankful that I can stand here today and proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord without fear of penalty or death.
I am thankful that I can proclaim to you all that there is true peace and lasting Hope in in Jesus Christ. And in Him and Him alone there is forgiveness of sins, love, and the ability to commune with the God of the universe.
I can proclaim without fear the good news of the Gospel that Jesus stands with open arms ready to receive and completely forgive anyone who will repent and trust in Him regardless of background , ,ethnicity or status,
It is because of our veterans that the church does not have to bow to the whims of popular culture and that we are free to stand on the Word of God and think and to worship as scripture directs.
Now maybe you are here today you do not agree with my statements about Jesus. Maybe you are a even bothered by them.
Even if that is true, I want to remind you, that you too, should be thankful that I have the freedom to speak as my conscience directs because the same freedom that protects me also protects you. it is this same freedom, protected by our constitution and armed forces that protects your right to live according to how your conscience directs. It is in this universal freedom that your rights are also protected by our brave men and woman.
So for this, to all of you who have served , we say thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for your service.
