1 Peter 3:15

If you have been coming the past few weeks, you know that we have covered truth. Truth is to be objective. It will not change. But you do have subjective truth, which is opinion based. We explored that all worldviews. Theism, pantheism, and atheism all will explain to be true.
We know that truth must exist, and the opposite of truth is something to be false.
Brief example.
The reason we are going over apologetics, which means to give a defense for the faith is due to 1 Peter 3:15
“but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,”
We should want to be well versed in being able to give support of why we believe what we believe.
With that today we are going to give a stance or defense for the existence of God from the cosmological argument.
Cosmo means world or universe. So the argument is going to outline the existence of God referring to the creation of the world.
Broken down into 3 statements
Everything that had a beginning had a cause
Law of causality
Nothing randomly appears.
The universe had a beginning
The Big Bang
Genesis 1.
S- Second law of thermodynamics
Battery. Everything that is charged must run out. A flashlight
U- Universe is expanding.
It is expanding from a certain origin. If it was eternal, it would not be expanding.
With the knowing that the universe had a beginning, we know it could not have stumbled about n
Therefore, the universe had a cause.
That cause was done by the Beginner which we believe is God.
But who created God?
For the logical motion to go. We live in a finite, you have finite and infinite. So God has to be outside of space, time and matter.
Two notions for something to exist
Has always existed and is therefore uncaused
Had a beginning and was caused by something else.
For the atheist, If there is no God, why is there something rather than nothing?
Why do we do it again? Give a defense, but we do it because we care for their soul
John 20:31 “but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 5:8 “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 10:9 “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:13 “For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.””
