CONTEST OF POWER

INTRO:
Charles Darwin developed the concept of the “Survival of the fittest”. I don’t subscript to the science of the evolution of the human existence but I can related to the phrase” the survival of the fittest.
I will speak more to the physical aspect and not necessarily the biological aspect.
The measure of power is obstacles overcome. — Oliver Wendell Holmes
1 Kings 18:23–24 KJV 1900
Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
Psalm 110:3 KJV 1900
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness From the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
PART 1
Explanation of the text and topic:
Power is the ability to act’ the capability to accomplishing something . In context to the topic, it is a the divinity overshadowing humanity to manifest wonder.
I have come to speak about mechanical power because it is the creation of man and its power by fuel. The creator is greater than the creation.
Neither I’m speaking about our physical power because it is limited exhaustion.
My focus is on the manifestation of the supreme power of the universe. A power that is above every power.
1. without the power of God the church is not an organism but rather it is just another social organization.
2. without the power, the church will be a hopeless place of mire ideas of men.
3. with out the power we are doomed
WHY?
The power of God is important because when we fall, which we all do,. He is there to lift us up.
Proverbs 24:16 KJV 1900
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: But the wicked shall fall into mischief.
He will keep holding us up:
Psalm 119:117 KJV 1900
Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: And I will have respect unto thy statutes continually.
We are weak but he is strong:
2 Corinthians 11:25 KJV 1900
Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
2 Corinthians 12:10 KJV 1900
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV 1900
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Power to acquire wealth:
Deuteronomy 8:17–18 KJV 1900
And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
When you feel like you can’t witness anymore:
Acts 1:8 KJV 1900
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Living in his Strength:
Ephesians 6:10 KJV 1900
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
He is the Creator:
Jeremiah 10:12 KJV 1900
He hath made the earth by his power, He hath established the world by his wisdom, And hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
Kept by His power:
1 Peter 1:5 KJV 1900
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
What than:
Say like Paul:
1 Corinthians 2:4 KJV 1900
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
1 Corinthians 4:20 KJV 1900
For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
1 Corinthians 2:5 KJV 1900
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Let us continue to pray no matter the delay.
Let us envision God’s manifestation.
Let us be willing to pay the prize
song: He is a mighty God, how great thou. Hallelujah,Hallelujah, Hallelujah
