Whenever people want to use God for personal gain, it can be a punishable offense. People who violate this law are sure to face serious consequences in the future. Bible verses about using God for personal gain have a lot to say on consequences and implications and how we can also live by faith and not by sight (1 Corinthians 10:6).
How we worship is important
Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ. But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell; nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer. Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.
‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
WE must worship God rightly
not out of what we may get from God not as a bartering tool with God Elaberate on this , But just to have a relationship with God and him alone
You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
2. We dont come for things we will get we dont come for comfort we shall get we dont come for fellowship with others we come for God alone
To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved. How long will you attack a man? You shall be slain, all of you, Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence. They only consult to cast him down from his high position; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, But they curse inwardly. Selah My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah Surely men of low degree are a vapor, Men of high degree are a lie; If they are weighed on the scales, They are altogether lighter than vapor. Do not trust in oppression, Nor vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them. God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God. Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For You render to each one according to his work.
Everyone in your life will dissapoint you everyone Only God will stand the test of faithfulness
If we are coming for any reason other that For a right relationship with God out of a thankful heart then we have decieved ourselves and as John says the truth is not in us
Speak on Luke charles
3. You cannot buy your way to God you cannot serve your way to God our gifts and service should come out of a thankful and grateful heart not a bartering heart
Acts 8:9–25 (NKJV)
But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.” And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time. But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done. Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.” Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.” So when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
4. The Christian walk is not a walk of mysticism its a way of Life
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,
We dont pray it on we put it on
We put it to action its not some invisible thing we just pray on its a way of life just like Christianity is not something you pray once and move on no my dear brothers no my dear children its a way of life its His way of life
that as scriptures say we must die daily to the flesh
WE must repent daily run from temptation run from the flesh run from the world
So how we worship is very important I head John MacArthur say
He has heard why doesn't God give me this or that i am good i deserve this or that i work for him am i not entitled to a little from God
John said you do not want what you deserve for apart from the mercy of God the only thing that we deserve is the full wrath of God but God who is rich in mercy has called us from such wrath so that we would walk not according to the ways of this world but we would walk in Christ.
So I ask you all today what has your intent for coming to Christ been? have you come to him with a sense of mysticism flee from this put your hope in Christ and follow through with his word if you will draw close to me I will draw close to you , Have you been hoping and praying but not receiving it may be because you have not drawn close to Him in a right way with a pure heart he is no gini he is no Santa he is the Lord of Lords the king of kings so come to Him flee from your self and run to Him alone
Have you come To gain something to get a blessing to make friends ? I say to you take your eyes off the trivial things of this world that so quickly fade away put you hope in Jesus alone all will fail you all will disappoint you only God will be forever faithful
Let us Pray
