Man I hope yall have been prepping for this. It was derrick I believed that told me he ends up reading the chapter of Genesis we are going to do for the week just so he has an idea of what is going on and can better understand the deep dive. I would encourage all of you to do that. This book is so powerful. I am just so enraptured by the story and how God has overlain the story of redemption in every chapter, every verse, and every word. I just want you to be reminded that everything in this book is to point to Jesus. OT is christ concealed, NT is christ revealed. Ok so that being said lets get into this.
James 5:17 NKJV
17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.
This will apply to Abram. We cannot idolize these men as though they didn’t have to go through what we did. We cannot be disappointed in these men. Don’t forget you are just like them and would do and do the exact same things. They have a sin nature just like yours.
So just like he used them, he can use you. God can do this with or without you but He chooses to do it with you. Don’t think that God cannot accomplish his will.
Now are we so thankful for His grace and mercy and reassurances. God no matter how many times he has told us a thing will repeat it again and again to us just simply because he loves us. And I am so thankful.
Now here go. Great victory Abram just had. We were all celebrating last week and what he did. And just as soon as he has this great victory here comes the pity party. Last week we focused on his actions and today, we are going to focus on his emotions.
Now men in the room don’t you dare tune me out. As soon as i start talking about emotions men kind of go to the last football game. I know but you had better pay attention to your emotions. Don’t pay homage to them as though they are ruling over you but pay attention because they can get you in trouble and that goes for you too women.
