Understanding The AntiChrist and his attempted Reign
Understanding The AntiChrist and his attempted Reign
1 And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads.
John sees a beast rise up OUT OF THE SEA.
The beast has seven heads and ten horns. Upon the ten horns are ten crowns. 10 horns=10 kings.
Upon the seven heads are the name of BLASPHEMY.
2 And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority.
The beast is like unto a leopard, his feet was as the feet of a bear, his mouth as the mouth of a lion.
“And the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”
We know the dragon is Satan. This beast is the anti-Christ. He gets his power from Satan, the dragon.
WHICH ANIMALS ARE MENTIONED IN REVELATION 13?
The anit-christ is like unto a leopard. That doesn’t mean he is a leopard but like unto one.
In the Bible, a leopard is referred to as swift. And a leopard is fierce.
6 Therefore a lion from the forest shall strike them down;
a wolf from the desert shall devastate them.
A leopard is watching their cities;
everyone who goes out of them shall be torn in pieces,
because their transgressions are many,
their apostasies are great.
The leopard is watching over the people.
a LION in that verse that SLAYS the people. The lion is king of all animals.
6 but when they had grazed, they became full,
they were filled, and their heart was lifted up;
therefore they forgot me.
7 So I am to them like a lion;
like a leopard I will lurk beside the way.
8 I will fall upon them like a bear robbed of her cubs;
I will tear open their breast,
and there I will devour them like a lion,
as a wild beast would rip them open.
The leopard is observing the people again. So a leopard is an observer.
It’s very good at watching things.
8 Their horses are swifter than leopards,
more fierce than the evening wolves;
their horsemen press proudly on.
Their horsemen come from afar;
they fly like an eagle swift to devour.
The leopards are called swift. So you have an observant and swift characteristic from this animal.
And the anti-christ is like unto a leopard.
A bear and lion are both fierce. And watch what David says before he slews Goliath.
34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep sheep for his father. And when there came a lion, or a bear, and took a lamb from the flock, 35 I went after him and struck him and delivered it out of his mouth. And if he arose against me, I caught him by his beard and struck him and killed him. 36 Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God.”
When you have God with you like young David there, a lion and bear are no match.
The lion and bear come to destroy the sheep. That’s what they symbolize here in Revelation Chapter 13.
15 Like a roaring lion or a charging bear
is a wicked ruler over a poor people.
Scripture from the Bible that tells us more about the anti-christ.
1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream and visions of his head as he lay in his bed. Then he wrote down the dream and told the sum of the matter. 2 Daniel declared, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea.
We see Daniel having a dream and visions. He wrote the dream in the book of Daniel.
He sees four winds of the heaven striving upon the great sea.
3 And four great beasts came up out of the sea, different from one another.
We see FOUR BEASTS versus single BEAST like we see in Revelation Chapter 13.
These 4 beasts were diverse or different from each other.
7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, terrifying and dreadful and exceedingly strong. It had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces and stamped what was left with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.
This is the Roman empire, which was in power when Jesus Christ came at HIS FIRST COMING.
So we see a fourth beast there DIVERSE FROM ALL THE 3 OTHER BEASTS.
8 I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots. And behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.
This fourth beast is a picture of the anti-christ and his kingdom upon the earth.
20 and about the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn that came up and before which three of them fell, the horn that had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things, and that seemed greater than its companions. 21 As I looked, this horn made war with the saints and prevailed over them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given for the saints of the Most High, and the time came when the saints possessed the kingdom.
This same little horn COMES UP INTO POWER. His mouth spoke very great things. And HE MADE WAR WITH THE SAINTS.
And PREVAILED AGAINST THE SAINTS.
7 Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation,
So again the little horn that comes up upon the HEAD OF THE KINGDOM is the anti-christ.
23 “Thus he said: ‘As for the fourth beast,
there shall be a fourth kingdom on earth,
which shall be different from all the kingdoms,
and it shall devour the whole earth,
and trample it down, and break it to pieces.
This is the REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE, but it’s also a picture of the ANTI-CHRIST’S KINGDOM.
How do we know this? Well, which kingdom was in power when Jesus came the first time?
The ROMAN EMPIRE.
24 As for the ten horns,
out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise,
and another shall arise after them;
he shall be different from the former ones,
and shall put down three kings.
-The heads and horns represent kings and kingdoms. One king will subdue three of the other kings.
1 And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads. 2 And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority.
This beast represents the great KINGDOM of the anti-christ and the anti-christ himself.
His kingdom is ruling over the entire world similar to the Roman empire.
3 One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast.
That’s the anti-christ himself. The person is wounded, dies, and is healed and comes back to life.
There are some preachers that teach the anti-christ didn’t die and come back to life.
4 And they worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?”
7 And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them,
The BEAST ascends out of the bottomless pit?
That’s because he was dead and went to hell. And he came back out of the bottomless pit.
“Nobody is like him!!!!” They’ll be saying.
Literal meaning of the word perdition is eternal damnation, hell. In Christian theology- A state of eternal punishment into which a sinful and unrepentant person passes after death.
8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come.
“THE BEAST THAT THOU SAWEST WAS, AND IS NOT; AND SHALL DESCEND OUT OF THE BOTTOMLESS PIT.”
“They behold the beast THAT WAS, AND IS NOT, AND YET IS.”
HE WAS which means he was living. IS NOT means he was dead. AND YET IS means he’s living again.
5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months.
The anti-christ comes into power. The world wanders after him.
In verse 5 they worship the beast. He speaks great BLASPHEMIES against GOD ALMIGHTY. Power is given unto him to continue 42 months.
25 He shall speak words against the Most High,
and shall wear out the saints of the Most High,
and shall think to change the times and the law;
and they shall be given into his hand
for a time, times, and half a time.
You see the anti-christ speaking words against God. He’s going to persecute the saints.
He’s going to change times and laws and those times and laws are given into his hand for 3 and a half years.
Or, a time, times and the dividing of time.
In Revelation 12 we see the anti-christ persecuting the earth.
Then he switches to just persecuting the saved people, the saints.
And that happens at seal 5 during the tribulation. Then, we see the abomination of desolation.
That’s when he enters into the temple and begins to regin in his kingdom.
10 The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in anguish
He shows up at the beginning of the tribulation, but he isn’t in power yet.
Then, the anti-christ continues in power 42 months. Remember the 2 witnesses from Revelation Chapter 11.
3 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”
We know that they are in the second half of the 3.5 years because they are shown in Chapter 11.
Remember Chapters 1 through 11 go through the entire 7-year period.
We’re obviously in the second half if we’re in Chapter 11.
7 And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them, 8 and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.
The anti-christ who returned from the dead at an earlier time will now KILL the 2 witnesses.
And the people rejoice over God’s 2 witnesses being killed.
So we know the anti-christ is in power and he’s a hero for those wicked people who are left on earth.
Then, the anti-christ loses all of his power at the Battle of Armageddon.
20 And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.
He’s definitely lost everything. He’s thrown into the LAKE OF FIRE. It’s over for him.
6 It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
The anti-christ blasphemes God, the name of God, his tabernacle, and all them that are in heaven.
