Welcome:
Cat welcome back from you vacation. It is good to see you. Hope that motorcycle trip in Canada went well.
Ray, we are going to miss you as you leave after 6 years. You have been faithful almost to a fault in showing up everyday, on time, and you excelled at your job. Thank-you from all of us here at FedEx.

Warm - up

Tim our 25 year Army veteran (a Senior Sargent) is going to lead the warm-up’s today. This is mandatory, but you only need to stretch to your comfort level. We just want everyone to get their blood moving and stretch a bit as we start.

Presort Messages (couple)

Veteran’s Day is coming up on the 11th. If you know a Veteran in your life take the time to tell him thank-you. Freedom is never free.
The next round of Covid is going around that area. You might have noticed that on Monday we were short. We had 8 people out. There are 2 main types here, an upper respiratory form that comes with head ache, fever, chills and a Lower GI, bladder Kidney form. Be careful that if you are feeling bad, get tested and stay home. That is one thing we don’t need to spread.
Remember that if you are going to be gone for more than a couple of days, that we need a letter from the doctor’s office.
If you are sore and uncomfortable, don’t forget stretching and hydration can help.

Relevant Region / District News

There is a Job opening for a Operations Manager in Park Falls. This is 45 minutes from us, so some of you might be interested in it. Feel free to look for more information on the bulletin board near the time clock. If you need further help, feel free to talk with me after sort and I can set you up with some web sites for addition information on this getting this job.
Also don’t forget your Purple Pathway Portal. This is a FedEx website that will help you to plan out a career path with FedEx and know what is needed to get to the next step.
Lastly, peek is starting and we are still looking for additional personal. If you know of someone that is looking for extra work, let them know.

Package Handler Recognition

Even though Ray is leaving, we want to say a special thank you for your work. Yesterday you only missed 4 packages on your sort. This might not be your personal record, but it is really top notch.
As we train Ray’s replacement, remember that we will either be helping or hurting him when we send his packages up. If the labels are up or facing forward, he can sort quickly and efficiently. If they are down, he has to physically flip the package to find them and it is nearly impossible to keep up with the flow. Let’s all of us do our best to send those labels up or facing forward for him.
Our scanners are ran just a bit low of our goal yesterday. We achieved a 99.2% out of a desired 99.4%. Yet I want to remind you that we have improved a lot. You have really come up for the previous month. I can tell you are working at it and we are getting close. Way to go Tim, Helen and Patience.
Yesterday we cleared 7562 packages total with 812 smalls and 154 LP / NC’s. We cleared at 8:25 which was excellent considering the higher volume, but we were a little slow on the wrap up, with the last truck releasing at 9:05 instead of 9:00. Remember to work the wrap-up with the same effort that we do the sort. PH need to help get the LP’s and NC’s delivered and clear the stack out’s.
Today we have an easier day with 6,850 packages projected. Madison trucks look like they might be late as they were released late. IF we get to a point were we aren’t unloading, lets get the LP and NC delivered and on to their trucks. (Don’t leave them on a cart at the head of the trucks. As soon as two of your arrive with the first two carts, start unloading. Keep the line going. A third person can drop his cart and start sending the 3,4 ,5, and 9’s back.) When you return, help them clear any stack outs. We will be calling out when the truck come through the gates and you have 10 minutes at that point to get a drink, use the bathroom and get ready.

Conclusion

In closing remember these two points:
1. If you have any questions, all of us manager are always available to help. We want to see each one of you doing your jobs and succeeding. You are our priority. If we can help, let us know.
2. Here at FedEx, safety comes first. You are important so don’t take any short cuts. Do the job right.
Let’s have a good day and get out of here as early as we can.
