1) What are the key theological ideas, points, propositions expressed in these verses?
Mary is in a position that she could be proud, how awesome am I, but she doesn’t she points back to God and how awesome He is
when good things happen we tend to glorify ourselves
48 all generations will call me blessed - because of what God has done
our soul glorifying God will likely be where we land for the big idea
magnify is the first word in Greek, magnifies the Lord my soul
her soul, and now she gives voice to magnifying the Lord
God is Mary’s savior
in her context it might not seem like a great thing
Mary’s faith and trust in God’s character, even when it doesn’t look that hopeful

when we are feeling blessed we want to magnify ourselves
challenged to magnify God regardless of our present circumstances
who among us cannot say - the mighty one has done great things for me
receiving from the Lord, comes from a place of humility and hunger - i have a need the I can fill myself, relying on ourselves vs relying on God
proud, rich, full vs the humble, the hungy
reversals of our expectations
remembering to be merciful (God will not forget the covenant that he has made)
his servant Israel - God’s people
the MightOne has done great for me (me is the object)
he is the one that will protect me, provide for my needs,
it’s not about me, it’s all about what God is doing bringing the Savior into the world
what has God promised you that has not happened yet
