1 John 5- that you may know that you have eternal life

its not something that we ought to view as a great mystery

I can know what pertains to salvation and what I ought to do to attain it because of what Jesus has done for me

John will say believe in Jesus and obey what he commands over and over again

what does Jesus command? what ought we believe about him?

he is the annointed one who died and overcame sin that we might do the same

In Matthew 16 he will say that if you want to follow me then take up a cross, he who loses his life for my sake will find it

after this in mark and matthew, he commands that they go and begin calling people to believe, repent, and be baptized

and what about that belief? what does it look like?

the whole book of acts

James will paint a clear picture where is brother is a little vague

I am charged with listening to the word of God through his followers and following his commands completely so that I might be saved

Wide and Narrow Gates

the sad truth is that most will not mat 7

good intentions and the morality of the current culture are not written anywhere as means for salvation

Paul will explain how other things come about in Romans 3-

but as we have said a billion times now, if there is a God, it is this one and these are his commandments that lead to life

what matters is not what you call yourself

doing God’s will is what matters

Limiting God

the grace and power of God is not something I ever want to act like I completely understand or ought to limit

I hope that grace will reach much farther than most think it will

but I know what his son said it will be like

and I know what he commands me to do
