Difference between apostle / disciple

Apostle - a disciple who is sent, or one who is sent to proclaim the gospel

Disciple - a learner...

Pretty much all apostles were disciples, but not vice-versa.

We are all commissioned to be disciples and apostles!

Common English Bible Chapter 28

Commissioning of the disciples

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshipped him, but some doubted. 18 Jesus came near and spoke to them, “I’ve received all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. Look, I myself will be with you every day until the end of this present age.”

Law of love

43 “You have heard that it was said, You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy. 44 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who harass you 45 so that you will be acting as children of your Father who is in heaven. He makes the sun rise on both the evil and the good and sends rain on both the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love only those who love you, what reward do you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing? Don’t even the Gentiles do the same? 48 Therefore, just as your heavenly Father is complete in showing love to everyone, so also you must be complete.

Sometimes loving extravagantly means grace when the world wants discipline. Other times, it means discipline when the world wants grace.

What is your purpose in life? What is truth? Many don’t know…WE DO/SHOULD!

Authority

We have apostolic authority - apostolic succession...

And, we have Jesus and His Spirit. As soon as he speaks to you, comes to you in a dream, or you feel the presence of the Spirit, BOOM, You’re a bona-fide apostle!
