Lets look at the similarities of these two events
The Fall of Man
God places Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden
Where good (What God had created) and evil (the misuse and abuse of what was good) resided.
The serpent was right next to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
The Fall (decent) of the Holy Spirit
God leads His son out into the wilderness. (Matthew 4:1 “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”)
Where the enemy is going to tempt Christ.
Take away:
The father doesn’t always shield us from sin and temptation.
Examples found in scripture ......
King David and Bathsheba
We are also not shielded from bad things happening to us
Jesus on the cross
Paul in prison
Stephen stoned to death
But what he does do is he makes a way for us to not be brought down by sin and temptation
I Cor 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
The Father also states that when bad things happen and we feel overwhelmed ....
Hebrews 13:5 “I will never leave you nor forsake you.””
The enemy wants to be like God! (Revealed in Gen. 3 and Matt. 4)
He convinces Adam and Eve they could be like God.
He miss quotes the words of God, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”
He actually twist Gods Words.
He cannot convince Jesus to worship him as his God.
He miss quotes scripture (the words of God), ‶’He will command his angels concerning you,’ and ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’ ”
