The Name Of Jesus (2) Shiloh

Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

To begin with as we glint, gleam, and gaze at this glorious text I found a Plethora of facts that resound loudly. In my Research I found that The Name of Jesus is Jesus being the Alpha and Omega. The Name of Jesus is Jesus being the Bridegroom. The Name of Jesus is Jesus being the Captain of our Salvation.The Name of Jesus is Jesus being the Divine Deliverer. The Name of Jesus is Jesus being the Faithful and True God. The Name of Jesus is Jesus being the Gabahh Because He’s Transcendent. The Name of Jesus is Jesus being the Hode’ the God of Majesty. The Name of Jesus is Jesus being Immanuel God with Us. The Name of Jesus id Jesus being Jehovah Ra’ah meaning the Lord is my Shepherd. The Name of Jesus is Jesus being Jehovah Rapha The Lord who Heals my body. The Name of Jesus is Jesus being Jehovah Qadash The God who Sanctifies me and then clean me up.

AH at The Name of Jesus the text says “Every knee should bow and Every tongue should confess that Jesus is Lord”. For me Not only is Jesus my Savior but He’s also my Lord. He saved me and then I cooperated with Jesus and let Him being in control of everything in my life and He becomes My Lord. Everybody say My Lord.

In order for this sermon to have some hermetical integrity I’ve got to least tell you why the writer the Apostle Paul gave us this doctrine in the first place. Listen, the Philippian Church was Paul’s favorite Church and that’s one of the key reasons Paul is speaking this way. The Philippian Church was a smaller church than the Corinthian church, smaller than Roman church and smaller than the Jerusalem church, but was Paul’s best church. And here’s why, Epaphroditus brought gifts to Paul from the Philippians church because they loved their Pastor. The Philippian Church loved their Pastor far more than any of the other churches. And sometimes the Pastor just want to know if he’s being celebrated or just tolerated.

And get this even though the Philippian church was more generous and more obedient and more forth coming, and more loving than the other churches, the Philippian church! still! had! problems! What were the problems

1.For one thing the bad news of a possible division in the church family.

2. Apparently there was a double threat to the unity of the church;

3. They had accepted False teachers coming in from without (Phil. 3:1–3) and disagreeing members within. (Phil. 4:1–3).

4. Then there was Euodia whose name means (“fragrance”) and Syntyche whose name means (“fortunate”) were debating and arguing in the church. Paul does not say what the beef was about but Paul told them they’d better stop because it weaken the Body of Christ when leaders cut up and carry on with each other and the whole church see it. Say Amen

Point 1. How Christians Ought To Act

Quickly Philippians 2:1 states in verse 1. that “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2 Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Alright there are 4 questions and 3 statements found in verses 1&2. Paul says

1. Does your life in Christ give you strength? 2. Does Christ’s love comfort you? 3. Do we as a church share together in the spirit?

4. And if we as a church share together do we have mercy and kindness?

These were all legitimate questions to ask his favorite church and it’s legitimate to ask Shiloh MBC the same thing.

And Paul’s response to his own questions was church

1. Make me very happy by having the same thoughts.

2. Share God’s love. and

#3 have one mind and the same purpose. Paul asked the church can you do that? Can you put your self aside. Ask your neighbor: Can you do that? Can you put yourself aside?Paul says when you getting ready to do things, MAKE SURE THEY ARE HOLY. Paul said in verse 3 When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honor to others than to yourselves. Verse 4 says Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others.

Christian hearted people usually put selfishness a side and put Pride aside. My answer is this “Church try a slice of humility and honor. Can you do that? Paul says can you do that?

The second thing I want to teach talk and tell us about is

Point 2.“Be Unselfish Like Christ”

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Can any of us really compare our Lives to Jesus? No! but we can try to immolate Jesus. What do you means Pastor? Paul said Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus. The mind speaks of the Psyche which speaks of the Personality of a person. The Character of Jesus is One of holiness,Truthfulness,Integrity, honesty, brevity and grave, serious minded, an Advocate and Redeemer, that’s Compassionate, with lovingkindness,with tons of graces, mercies, and the best of all our Propitiation. The Character of Jesus is the best thing for mankind to ever hope for.

*Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus.

Then the part where the scripture says in verse 6, And Jesus didn’t think that it was robbery to be equal with God. The essence of the text is that we as Christians believe in the Trinity. One God in Three persons with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. We believe in a Monotheistic God that there is On and only One True and Living God and Infinite Intelligent Spirit Whose name is Jehovah Maker and Supreme Ruler of Heaven and Earth meaning that it’s One God with offices that are distinctive, and functionally different while being equal in essence substance and existence. Teach me Pastor.

The bible says that there was a Lamb as it had been slain before the foundations of the world. And that Lamb is called Jesus the Christ. Jesus was not a created being, or just another major prophet, Because Jesus chose to come down through 42 generations to save humankind . The bible says Jesus was conceived of the virgin Mary born in Bethlehem grew up in Nazareth Suffered under Pontus Pilate in Jerusalem, took it upon Himself the role of a servant!Even to the death on the cross. Jesus is a Servant Leader

Servant in the Greek vernacular is the word Duolos. The servant has very little say so and he/she takes orders from their superior officer. In this case God the Son,Jesus took orders from God the Father.

And so In order to save mankind Jesus had to play that role. Everybody in here have a role to play. And we have a role to play too, As Christians we have to follow what the book says.

It is evident in the text in Philippians 2:8 that Jesus fashioned Himself, compelled Himself, and Made Himself comply to an awful outcome. The bible says that Jesus was the humble obedient suffering servant who willingly went to the cross for your sins and mine.Jesus took our place and that’s called Propitiation Jesus is The substitutionary Sacrifice for our sins. And for that cause Lord I want to say thank you.

Let’s deal with what Jesus recieved from God and what God made sure of as a result of what Jesus did. Verse 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Above Buddha, Muhammad, Baal, Sobek, Ra, Sowin for halloween, Asheroth, Sheeva with Hinduism,Cushner, Zeus, Althena, Apollos, Dalilima, etc etc etc. NONE OF THEM COMPARE TO JESUS!!!. The bible says that God has highly exalted Jesus but why?

1. The obvious reason is to authenticate the deity of God the Son.

Secondly God is saying “Here is my beloved Son in whom I Am well pleased”.

Thirdly if God elevates Jesus above every other name then the Name of Jesus is the Exousia the Supreme Authority. And when you and I have The God with All Power in His hands, then you have somebody on your side who can do something for you.

It’s got a lot of people who are on my side but don’t have the power in their names to help me when I’m in need of a Break through. God the Son has Power in His Name.

Lord Jesus I’ll bow to you and I’ll confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and that God raised Him from the dead and now He up in Heaven sittings on the Right Hand of God the Father.um um um Yes

There is Power in the Name of Jesus. Because when I talk about Jesus I get so excited inside Oh Lord.

When I talk about Jesus I call Him The Almighty God.

When I talk about Jesus I think about bread in a starving land.

When I talk about Jesus I think about a Caring Compassionate God. Oh Lord.

When I talk about Jesus I think about my Doctor in a sick room.

When I talk about Jesus I think about my Eternal Savior.

When I talk about Jesus I think about my Friend that sticks closer than a brother.

When I talk about Jesus I think about my Guardian Angel. Oh Lord.

When I talk about Jesus I think about a Holy Holy Holy God yes.

When I talk about Jesus I think about my Infinite God who has no end. Oh Lord.

When I talk about Jesus I think about Jehovah Jireh the Lord our Provider.

When I talk about Jesus I think about the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

When I talk about Jesus I think about Our Merciful Savior who look pass our faults and sees about our needs.

When I talk about Jesus I think about a God who supplies all my Need according to His riches in Glory.

When I talk about Jesus I thinks about My God that’s Omnipotent Omniscient and Omnipresent.

When I talk about Jesus I think about my Propitiation He took my place and died for me.

When I talk about Jesus I think about my Rock in the wearied land. Shelter in the time of storm.

When I talk about Jesus I think about the Trinity the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Oh Lord.

When I talk about Jesus I think about my God that teaches us where there’s Unity there is strength. Oh Lord .

When I talk about Jesus I think about Jehovah Nissi the God who reigns in Victory. oh yes He does. And

When I talk about Jesus I think about a Way ! Maker He made a way out of no way. Yes He did.

When I talk about Jesus I think about my X-ray God Look right through me see when I’m good and knows when I’m bad. And

When I talk about Jesus I think about the Zenith of my life. Yes

When I talk about Jesus I thinks about my God who Save my soul Made me whole. Jesus pick me up turn me around put my feet on solid ground. Hey Hey Hey Lord Ain’t He Alright 3x.
