The Omnipotent Godhead

Colossians 1:12-14

I. DELIVERED US FROM THE POWER OF DARKNESS.

A. Sin’s power is a kingdom of darkness.

1. There is nothing about it that is good.

2. It contaminates the creation of God.

B. The darkness of sin is an all-controlling force.

1. Creates an unrealistic view of sin.

2. Causes enslavement.

C. God liberates us through faith in His Son.

II. TRANSLATED US INTO HIS SON’S KINGDOM.

Removed us from one sphere and delivered us into another.

Took us out of the kingdom of darkness and put us into the kingdom of His Son.

A. Translated from death unto life.

B. Translated from darkness to light.

C. Translated from sinful to righteous.

III. REDEEMED US THROUGH HIS BELOVED SON’S BLOOD.

A. Not just forcibly removed with might, but ransomed.

B. Paid in full, from this moment on.
