1. Introduction

a. Pray

b. Read Phil 4:2-3

Philippians 4:2–3 NIV
2 I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. 3 Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life.

c. Explain the passage

i. Serves as the climax of the letter
ii. Euodia and Syntyche are women leaders in the Church who need reconciliation. This is the application of Phil 2.
iii. These women, along with Clement and others are Paul’s co-laborers in the Gospel
iv. The Philippian church is founded almost entirely with women. Acts 16

2. We are called by God to maintain the unity of the body of Christ

a. Eph 4:3

Ephesians 4:3 NIV
3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

b. Phil 2:2 – Have the mindset of Christ

c. As Christians, we must reconcile our broken relationships. Living outside of unity is not an option.

d. As Christians, we should stand ready to help resolve disagreements within the Body of Christ.

3. How do we do this?

a. Have the mindset of Christ, Phil 2:1-11

b. Assume the best of others

c. Pray for our own hearts to be right in disagreement

d. Lovingly and with humility, seek reconciliation. If needed, use a mediator. BUT NO GOSSIP!

4. Conclusion

a. We must be united. We must maintain the unity of the Body of Christ.

b. We must seek reconciliation.

c. Living outside of unity, in disunity, is not an option.

d. Pray.
