Welcome
Welcome
1st CVBC Mens fellowship
And the launch our this community and area mens ministry
Our goal is fellowship and grow through the unity of Christ
First to our families, then to our local church, then to the community
We are to be a light to those around us
Proverbs 27:17
Proverbs 27:17
Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron, and one person sharpens another.”
Men, this is what we are doing tonight.
I am sure you have all heard this before
The analogy here is that just as a file is used to sharpen steel
Good friends and brothers are used to encourage and grow each other
And not just grow in a wordly type of way
But to grow in wisdom, and godliness
To disciple, and to be discipled
I love the age gap here, we have men in training from the age of 8 to well, lets just say to wisdom
And I love how God is able to bring us all together, under one banner. And that is Christ
Because I am pretty sure, without Christ, there are a lot of us that wouldn't be hanging out because our paths probably would have never crossed
But why do we need to sharpen each other with events like this and within the local body
Well its because as men, we are the protectors and providers of the most precious thing we can have on this earth outside of Jesus
And that is our family, The older wiser men here, have been there, done that
Us middle aged men, we are on our journey to being those older men
And the young men here, yall are just beginning
So let me say this, You older men, us middle aged guys need you, we need you to disciple us in the ways of the Lord and the ways of being a father
From your mistakes and from your victories
and middle aged men, we need to listen, because we are in the thick of it right now.
One of the biggest things that is happening right now is the battle against the family
A battle against men.
To take away our masculinity and replace it with a different agenda
So men, we have to fight
And scripture tells us how to do that
1 Corinthians 16:13 “Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong.” (Act like men!)
By Being alert we need to be on guard,
watchful of the spiritual warfare that can slip in
pride
sin,
Things that can pull us away from the Lord and from our families
By standing firm in the faith
that is to stand in the good news of the gospel that brings salvation
By Being courageous
we are to stand against false teaching
deal with sin
and attack our shortcomings, not run away from them
Be strong with the strength that only the Holy Spirit can provide
And most importantly, we are to do it all in love
because without love, everything else falls apart
Let me conclude this by saying thank you to all them Men and men in training that showed up tonight
We will win the battles by coming together
Because while we are still fighting battles
We know who wins the war, and thank God we are on His side!
Amen!
Gentlemen the battle is just beginning
But we know who wins the war!
