The Letter of Hebrew 3:1-6

Introduction

Greeting

Welcome hybrid youth, How is everyone doing?

Why

Were going through the letter of hebrews, this letter speaks to people who are facing temptation and hardship and thinking about giving up there faith and hope.

Transition

Its easy to put ourselves in there shoes because we all have faced hardship and pain. Lets pay close attention how the Writer encourages them.

Fix Our Thoughts on Jesus

Hebrews 3:1–2 NIV

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house.

Story

We live in a time, where our attention for our thoughts is constantly from the morning to the evening. In times of hardship and temptation we need to get our attention on jesus.

Teaching

Why? He is our apostle which means a sent messenger. We need to remember his message towards us. He is aslo our high priest the wone who made a perfect sacrifee for our sins. We need to make every effort in the midst of hardship and temptation to fix your eyes on jesus becuase he is the way out of darkness.

Jesus is the Builder

Hebrews 3:3–4 NIV

Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.

Teaching

The author goes to tell us a another reason for why we should fix our eyes on jesus and jesus is like no another phophet who had a message for the people but his a unquie because he wasnt just a messager he was the builder of the unverise.

Story

This is completely unquie idea becuase our western culure tells us we were created, we were build but rather were accident, our time plus chance plus matter. The scriptures tell us another story that all that you see was build by a creator and his name is jesus.

Transition

but now his building something more special the mere creation his building a people who will be with him, be like him and live like him.

We are his House

Hebrews 3:5–6 NIV

“Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,” bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future. But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.

Teaching

That when you belived in jesus christ as your Lord and Saviour, the scriptures tells us we are part of Gods Family. we are his people we are partakers of his new creation.

Story

When i first belived in jesus verses now im not the same person becuase jesus has been and will continue to build me from the inside out. In the same way he will do that in you

Transition

We are his home and we live among us and he lives in us. Lets take time to listen to him but aslo share what God might be say through us to one another.

Application

Take some time to Listen to God

Take some time to share whatever God is saying through us to one another.
