Thankful

What is your favorite part about thanksgiving?
I want you for a second to think about yourself, and who are you are, Like if you were to pull out the phone on your camera like you are taking a selfie.
Then I want you to think about where you live. Think about your room, think about your the house that you stay in, you know, your favorite part about your house, and then what does the outside look like, think about that.
Think about the clothes you where the shoes you have, some of you nicest, best clothes, some of your favorite clothes,
Think about your family! Think about all of your siblings, if you have them, think about your mom, dad, think about your grandparents, like really think about them. Your cousins and everything,
And then think about the choices that youve made to get there, you think about why God has placed you where he has you, why you were born the way he created you
Now let me ask you this question. What decision did you make to deserve any of that. Your mom your dad whoever takes care of you, the place you live in now. Everything.
We were simply born into it, and God placed us here, you think about how crazy it is, that our ancestors, have made choices that have brought us together for such a time as this.
And you had no choice about it.
I think some of our attitudes when were around other people are, man I wish I was in there position, or I wish I had what they had, but do you? Because the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. So are you grateful for what God has given you today?
Thanksgiving is awesome, and one of my favorite memories of Thanksgiving when I was kid is just joining hands with cousins, aunts, and uncles and mom and dad and siblings and we would say what we are thinkfulfor, all of us. Now that I have gotten older I realize that I have much more to be thankful for then what I realize

3 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming. 7 In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. 8 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. 11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.

12 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Paul gives this challenge to the people of collessea To live by the standard of what Christ has called us to live by. That means to quit living in your old ways, If, Now that you know who Christ is and that you know who God is. Simply put on the things.
Do you care for one another, Do you live this lifestyle, when one hurts you is your first reaction to forgive and make peace.
Put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. notice how the scripture says to put on love. Put on love like you would hang on to your favorite necklace.
Here is where we get into thankfulness
15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Gosh you guys live like Christ lives inside of you if he does. If you know the Lord as your Lord and savior simply live like it. let him rule in your hearts, and quit trying to live on both sides of the green, and what i mean by that, is that some of us know when we were being evil and choose to be it despite knowing Christ. Becuase we think its funny or because we need to get back at that person. They hurt me, so I need my revenge, My parents hurt me in this way and Ill never forget it and instead ill hold a grudge because of it. Let Christ rule in youre heart and be thankful that you have him in your heart if you do.
and as it dwells in you be thankful. Why should someone be thankful for you? Look i know our parents and our friends would say that there thankful for us but other than blood shared and time spent why should they be thankful for you. I hope they are thankful because of Christ in you! Because that is what matters the most. Not anything else.
