Difference in Receiving (1, 6-8)
Difference in Receiving (1, 6-8)
Christ is the worker of our salvation
Through our Lord Jesus Christ- vs 1
Christ died for us- vs 6-8
Saved through him- vs 9
Reconciled by the death of his Son- vs 10
Joy through our Lord Jesus Christ- vs 11
There is nothing we can do to add or take away from our salvation
He loved us when we were enemies, without strength, deserving nothing
This is how we know the depth of the love of God
Difference in Remaining (2-5)
Difference in Remaining (2-5)
We have access into this grace, even the glory of God
We are still awaiting our eternal glory in heaven but we have early access
We stand and rejoice in this hope
Even in trials and tribulations we rejoice
We have a different perspective than others
Even trials are working in us to bring us closer to our eternal hope in Christ
When working towards a goal we have joy in the hard
Studying for exams or going to the gym (or enduring a cholesterol diet!)
Difference in Eternity (9-11)
Difference in Eternity (9-11)
Much More- Eternally saved from wrath
His blood has covered all our sins
Just like the levitical sacrifices of the Old Testament, atonement has been made by Christ for our sins
The wrath of God has been satisfied
Much More- Eternally saved into life
Christ was the first-born from the dead and we shall be raised with him into eternal life
God is the source of life- Eternal life is eternal relationship and closeness to this source
