Who he was. v29
29 And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.
Jonas was a God called prophet.
Jonas was a God directed prophet.
What he did. v.30
30 For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.
He was put away three days and three nights.
Matthew 12:40 “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”
He returned after the third night.

She will testify to the fact of judgment.
She will testify to the future of judgement.
Who is rejecting wisdom? v.31b
for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
People who refuse Jesus.
People who reject Jesus.
Here are WITNESSES that testify against people that reject God’s gift of salvation.

II. Royalty. v.31
III. People. v.32
III. People. v.32
What happened to these men? v.32a
32 The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it:
They had only conscience and got saved.
They condemn the people that reject the incarnate Christ as all they had was a rebellious prophet.
Who is greater than Jonah? v.32b
for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
Jesus Christ is greater!
Jesus Christ is God!
IV. Light. vs.33-34
IV. Light. vs.33-34
What light is for. v.33
33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.
People work with what light they have.
People waste the light they have.
Why there is no light. v.34
34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.
The eyes take in what is before them.
The eyes are where the battle for a soul starts.
