Good morning Orchard saints! (Wait for response)
We hope you all had a sweet Thanksgiving.
If your new with us, my name is Tim, and I’m one of our pastoral residents—I and Pastor Tom would love to meet you after the service; also, please stop by our welcome desk to receive a small gift before you leave.
Here at The Orchard, we exist to glorify God by growing in faith, hope, and love, through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We pray each of us does just that today.
There are a few things we want to update you about:
The “prince of preachers” Charles Spurgeon noted that “Sometimes we think we are too busy to pray. That is a great mistake, for praying is a SAVING of time.”
Well next Sunday at 12:15 is our monthly prayer gathering Pray First—don’t miss out on this supernatural, time-redeeming blessing!
We also have other prayer groups,
including one I lead Sunday morning,
and a group Deacon Mike Titre leads on Thursdays
Talk to one of us pastors or the church office for more details.
2) Second,
Special Needs Families and friends listen up!
Next Saturday/This upcoming Saturday, December 2nd from 11 to 3, we have our Special Needs Parents’ Day Out!
Families who have children with special needs can drop off all their children for an afternoon of fun, while parents enjoy a free afternoon together!
This event is open not just to Orchard families, but to those from our community— so spread the word!
Registration is required and is open on The Orchard website.
We are in need of more volunteers for this event. Please contact Robin Price for more info.
3) And now, I’d like to invite up John Aiello for an Open The Bible update!
sit at the front… leave things at pulpit.
...
Let’s now turn to the Lord in thanksgiving, drawing from Psalm 9 and others!
We will be praying the Lord’s prayer together after my prayer, so please join aloud with me when I cue you.
The words will be on the screen if you need them.
Our Great Father, enthroned in heaven,
We sing praises to you, and bless your name.
We enter your gates with thanksgiving and your courts with praise.
We give thanks to you, BOAST in you, for you are GREAT and awesome,
and you have done AWESOME things!
*Provision of Orchard
You have called us out of the darkness of sin and unbelief, and into your marvelous light,
where we behold your beauty and proclaim your excellencies.
Our King, You rebuke the nations; you make the wicked perish; you blot out their name forever and ever.
The enemy comes to an end in everlasting ruins;
But YOU sit enthroned forever, establishing your throne for JUSTICE, judging the world with righteousness.
You are mindful of the oppressed and do not forget the cry of the afflicted.
This morning, O God, In your righteousness and grace,
Give Holy Spirit-power to the preaching
Give Holy Spirit-conviction to our hearing
that together we may repent, believe, and grow into full maturity and holiness
Lead us not into temptation this week,
Deliver us from fear and despair
from self-medicating and distracting ourselves
from hardening our hearts rather than confessing and being healed
from grumbling and coasting, rather than WATCHING and PRAYING!
Deliver us from the schemes of Satan who would divide husband and wife,
parents and children
friends and families
Deliver us from the evil of worldly business
which keeps us from staying on our knees,
being a church on her knees
and instead UNITE us to FEAR your name, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ, and give THANKS to you in all circumstances.
We ask all these things in the omnipotent name of Jesus.
And now, church family, let us be BOLD to pray with renewed vigor, as Jesus taught us:
Our Father, in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever,
Amen.
As we continue in worship, we ask you please visit our website to fill out the CC and do your online giving.
- And, speaking of giving-- we want to thank you for your generosity.
- We PRAISE God this isn’t a community where we have to plead with you to be obedient in this area.
- We see the Spirit of Jesus in your giving!
- As we come to the end of the calendar year, we ask you to please prioritize your local church family.
You can see on the screens the end-of-year goal we are asking of the Lord.
