Mark 10:46–52 NIV84
46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (that is, the Son of Timaeus), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. 51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” 52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

1. When you expect the best you will receive His best

Bartimaeus was not asking for the disciples, I’m certain he had heard that Jesus had power to heal
Do not settle for second best
Many are satisfied with just good and stop asking for great
Many accept adequate when they can have outstanding
Many want to be ordinary instead of extraordinary
Your cry should be for the supernatural
The thanksgiving meal was great but you have to move on
Leftovers may hold you over for a day but eventually leftovers don’t satisfy

2. Don’t settle for leftovers when the His best is available

James 1:17 “17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
Change your thinking
You are a child of the King of Kings
He give His best blessings daily
He gives breakthrough miracles daily
Ask for His best
Don’t just focus on things
Ask for His Spiritual Best
Ask for courage to believe
Ask for Strength to stay faithful
Ask for Faith that moves mountains
Ask for Wisdom to understand His ways
Stay committed
Be Persistent
If you don’t have it, keep chasing it

3. God is not running out of blessings

Matthew 7:7 “7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Learn to ask from God
Learn to receive His best
Many people worry they ask for too much from God
Truth, most people don’t ask enough
We don’t ask because we don’t believe
James 1:6 (NLT)
6But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
James 1:6 “6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”
Do not doubt God
God is still able

4. Live a life without leftovers

Ask for great vision
Dream Big. Reach Higher.
Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of all that Jesus has taught
The Israelites were fed manna every day
Exodus 16:16–20 (NLT)
16These are the Lord’s instructions: Each household should gather as much as it needs. Pick up two quarts for each person in your tent.” 17So the people of Israel did as they were told. Some gathered a lot, some only a little. 18But when they measured it out, everyone had just enough. Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough. Each family had just what it needed. 19Then Moses told them, “Do not keep any of it until morning.” 20But some of them didn’t listen and kept some of it until morning. But by then it was full of maggots and had a terrible smell. Moses was very angry with them.
Leftovers will start to smell
Leftovers will develop maggots
Bartimaeus cried out for Jesus
Nothing and no one else will do
Jesus is asking a life changing question:
Mark 10:51–52 “51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” 52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.”
The Creator is asking what you want
Don’t just ask for chickens when you can have the farm
Don’t just ask to survive when you can thrive
Don’t just ask to make it another month when you can have abundance
Leftovers No More
If you have the Faith for It, You will see the miracle
I want my family to be saved
I want my marriage to flourish
I want to be Blessed so that I can be a blessing
I want more of you, nothing else matters
