God Did It For You

Good morning!

How many of you guys are excited about Christmas? What are you all looking forward to this Christmas, besides being off school?

Now, something your parents say, you teachers probably say the same thing, “Christmas is not about the presents, its about ______________” Who is Christmas about?

Jesus! That’s right!

Now, we go that out of the way, let’s get real…presents are pretty nice aren’t they? Who doesn’t like to get presents am I right?

Guess what! God thinks presents are pretty big deal too! Did you know that God has given us the BEST presents ever? James 1:17

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

I want to talk to you guys today about some of these presents that God has given us, but I need you all to be quiet and listen to me. I’m going to need some of your help today too, but I’m only asking for students that are quiet and are listening.

I’m going to the book of Genesis, so if you brought your Bible, turn to chapter 1 with me...

Time - God didn’t need time, He’s eternal. What is eternity? I’ll need a volunteer to help with that

Space - What is space? I’ll need several volunteers for that! Let’s get the fifth grade class down here! Stand in the circle. God plenty of room? OK 4th grade come on down!

All we can eat

What we should not eat - disobeying is called sin. When we don’t listen to our parents, or our teachers, we are disobeying, and God calls it sin.

The Best

When we sinned, He gave us His Son! Which is really what Christmas is all about.

Conclusion:

The next time your parents remind you that Christmas is not about presents, tell them that God gave us THE BEST present ever, when He gave us Jesus!
