A God who Gets Close

God is Eminent (Above all)

Jesus is eternal.

Jesus is the Word. What does the word mean/do.

…apart from him…Nothing! (Run)

God is Immanent (With us)

And the Word became flesh

Dwelt (skneoo) tabernacle

And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own, And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known

The preachers like to say God is whatever God needs you to be. And that is right. Can can show up in right on time do the impossible. But, God is not just whatever every you need Him to be, God is also whensoever you need him. What if If told you that God does’t have to “show up” in the traditional meaning of the phrase, but God is always there, in the mix, in the work, in the pain, in the trial, in the suffering, in the glory, in the shame. God is immanent, God is present.

He existed in eternity past with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Law was given through Moses--

Grace and Truth come through Jesus—That was your shout. Let me remind you of some things that Grace has freed us from in regards to the law. According to the law, You couldn’t eat certain foods, wear certain clothes, marry certain people, go to places, you couldn’t associate with your family friends if you were sick, (but Because of Grace)

John then tells us the elementary truth that nobody has seen God at anytime meaning in all his Glory, but the God he has just explained to us has, the only begotten he has revealed God. And this is in line with John 14 that you can’t get to the father apart from the Son, because you can’t know God apart from the revelation of Jesus. Example: you don’t know someone until you spend some time with them.
