One thing I did give one Christmas that was awesome was my time

One of my favourite Christmas memories was working in homeless shelter on Christmas eve and Christmas day

Sharing a little love with those who hardly had anything was great

It’s nice to to give my time and share love at Christmas a time that can be very lonely for many

‘Tells the story of a young girl, Lily, who uses the family telescope to find a man living on his own on the moon. Concerned that he will spend Christmas on his own she finds a way to send him the perfect gift. This ad has shown someone connecting with someone outside their immediate circle of friends and family. It ends with the strapline ‘Show someone they’re loved this Christmas’ ’

Lily the girl in the advert worries that the man will be lonely show she shows him some love

It is hurt moving and warming to watch

But showing someone they are loved at Christmas is so important

Context

I want you to know your love this Christmas

I want you all to know you’re loved this Christmas

But this is know ordinary love it’s the greatiest love you will ever know

I’m not talking about Whitney and Kevin

This is a love that supersedes any love!

And this love came to us as a child

Luke 2:7 MSG

She gave birth to a son, her firstborn. She wrapped him in a blanket and laid him in a manger, because there was no room in the hostel.

It’s this love that we celbrate at Christmas - Jesus

As this child was born so we could be given eternal life

John 3:16 ESV

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

God gave his Son so he could be ransom for many

This love is unique and as I said it supersedes any love as this love frees us the chains of sin and gives us eternal life with are God.

If you take the first letter from the words God, Only, Son, Perish and Eternal and Life.

These words spell Gospel and Gospel means good news

And the Chritiams story of Jesus birth and what it leads to his death and resurrection is good news to anyone who belives as they will have eternal live through him.

When we talk about sharing love at Christmas remember the love that God has shown you by given his One and Only son as he love you
