Introduction

El Ro ee God who sees
not el roi. He was a son in the cartoon the jetsons
GOD SEES ME, SO GOD KNOWS ME, AND HE STILL LOVES ME
Funny story of working at St Marys and riding the floor mopper
I was seen and didnt even know it
How many of you have heard of the Bible character named Abraham.
God had promised abram that he would be the father to all the nations and that his descendants would be like those in the stars.
There was only one problem. Abram was 86 years old at this point and guess how many kids he had?
Zilch! Nada! Zero!
So he and his wife assumed it was sarahs problem so they got impatient. So they forced their servant Hagar (say hagar) to have a child with abram.
There is just one problem with this though
That was not what God promised nor was it his plan.
Sometimes we get impatient and we feel like God isnt watching or God doesnt care but guess what God sees
GOD SEES ME, SO GOD KNOWS ME, AND HE STILL LOVES ME
Well Sarah became extremely jealous that hagar was going to have a child with abraham, go figure
And she was ridiculed, she was outcast, she was mistreated, she was shunned by all of those around her and they were the very ones that asked her to be in this nasty situation.
GOD SEES ME, SO GOD KNOWS ME, AND HE STILL LOVES ME
So Hagar who is fearful for her own life fleas and runs from her master sarah. Abram permitted sarah to abuse hagar and so naturally she ran away.
Can you imagine how hagar must be feeling in this moment? My friends hate me, my mistress and master hate me, and surely God must hate me.
GOD SEES ME, SO GOD KNOWS ME, AND HE STILL LOVES ME
The angel of the Lord asks her why she has fled and she is told to return to her mistress and she promised that she will be a mother to thousands of generations and she got to experience the presence of God and this is what she says in Genesis 16:13 “13 Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are a God who sees”; for she said, “Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him?””
no one wanted her, no one trusted her, everyone abandoned her but you know what she could say when God visited her in that moment
GOD SEES ME, SO GOD KNOWS ME, AND HE STILL LOVES ME
I have been working on memorizing scripture as of late and one passage that I have memorized reminded me greatly of the truth in this name of God El Roi (ee)

1 You have searched me, LORD,

and you know me.

2 You know when I sit and when I rise;

you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3 You discern my going out and my lying down;

you are familiar with all my ways.

4 Before a word is on my tongue

you, LORD, know it completely.

5 You hem me in behind and before,

and you lay your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?

Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;

if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

GOD SEES ME, SO GOD KNOWS ME, AND HE STILL LOVES ME
He is familiar with me, he percieves my thoughts, when I am at my worst and I am at my best, he sees me and He still loves me
GOD SEES ME, SO GOD KNOWS ME, AND HE STILL LOVES ME
