Conversion (How to you become a Christian)

Romans 4:3–5 NASB95
For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,
Luke 18:18–23 NASB95
A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. “You know the commandments, ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.’ ” And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.” When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when he had heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich.
Notes:
Islam: Salvation comes in acknowledging that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is his prophet. Islam teaches that one will be rewarded if their good deeds exceed their bad deeds (only 51% is needed)
Hinduism: Hinduism is a very works-oriented religion in which you get exactly what you deserve. Many Hindus have said that these topics appealed to them since there is no mercy and forgiveness within Hinduism.
Buddhism: Through right living and the pursuit of enlightenment, Buddhists aspire to escape the cycle of rebirths and reach nirvana.
Catholicism: One is saved through belief and the sacraments
